Who are the big 4...?
- kingcong39

I’d have to think Stammer, kucherov, point, Cirelli ? If he is referring to forwards.

Hot take: I bet they would be more willing to move Stamkos over any of the other 3.

I said that the same year the Sabres got Dahlin.

Svechnikov was so underrated coming out.

Happy we got Dahlin though.

Huh?
He was the 2nd pick
And only so bc a “generational” defenseman happened to be in the draft

I like the idea of trading for Larkin. Don't know Yzerman would though.

Outside of winning one of the lottery spots, I say Jack Quinn all day long. Probably will have to get in the top 5 to get him though.

- Hatboro_Swords

He's been rising. McKenzie had him jump from 19 to top-10.

The two main sites I visit most have Quinn at 12 and 14 respectively.

It's a head scratcher tbh. His stats are a step below the top 5 and like Rossi he was a bit older.

Not saying he can't/won't be good, just that the late rise is surprising.

McKenzie interviewed a lot of scouts and they're generally all over the place from no. 2 on down

He had 12 goals in 61 games last year and was just shy of being draft eligible.

I’m not buying it.

Straight from Eklund, so you gotta know it's true:

The rumoured deal would send Sabres RD Rasmus Ristolainen to Toronto, along with a couple mid-round picks for Andreas Johnsson and Alex Kerfoot and a 2020 pick.

This deal helps both teams in alot of ways. The Leafs are not likely to bring back Tyson Barrie and frankly Rasmus Ristolainen is a better all-around player who fits more into the way the Leafs want to play. Kerfoot brings an element that Krueger has been asking for when it comes top attitude and Andres Johnsson adds a second/third line player who is capable of putting up 20 goals and is signed to a reasonable contract for the next three years...

Better not be true
I’d hate that trade for us

Do the kane trade any day. Every player/pick we traded didn’t amount to anything and it secured us Eichel.

That would solve a lot of problems for the Sabres

They'd get the two best players in the deal

We still would’ve had Eichel, and like everyone else says who knows who would have been picked.

Yup. It's such a bad point to make

If I'm at 7 with the top d-man and that highly touted goalie prospect available, that No. 2 C might not be too far out of reach in a trade for it

Stamkos
Kucherov
Point

Cirelli - To a lesser extent. There would have to be a + with it.

They'd force the coaches to play better D men. It's a win regardless of who we get back

It's far more likely that any deal for 7th overall will look a lot like the Stepan trade.

Someone who was once a good 2C, isn't now and is probably bad value for a pick that has a better than 50% chance of not working out.

Both teams will call it a win cause one got immediate help and the other got cap/prospect but the actual value added to the team is almost nothing.

Same with almost every take you've ever had for the last 8 years. Never admit it, just keep making excuses. Draisaitl only thing you've ever gotten right.

I actually think Kerfoot would be a good fit for Krueger but yeah. I don't agree with the notion that Ristolainen got better under a new coach. Many of his numbers took a dip, which is saying something

Sans the ROR deal, that’s basically been every trade a team has made the past few years to try to “win now”.

Im trying to figure out how this is going to work.

Looking around the NHL nearly every team is at or over the cap and has a lot of contracts coming up.

IF the cap slides backwards a little im not sure how teams will be able to afford it.

Agreed. However, if said player can hold down that center spot while getting Buffalo closer to the playoff bubble, it could be a bigger win in terms of an overall confidence moving forward.

They need to win now. Plain and simple
