if Mogily gets in, Alfy should.

Meh. Mogilny > Alfredsson as far as I'm concerned.

I'd say it's the other way around. If Alfredsson gets in, Mogilny should.

Theres was some argument on the tweeter that alfie was better than sundin.
Well it was a couple of sens fans and a couple leaf haters against 100's of reasonable hockey fans.

I have doubts about Chicago, as you can't get hotels in the area suitable for housing all the players.

Most likely, yeah. Alfredsson should be a hard maybe, though. Mogilny should've been in years ago.

Do you mean this year or just in general that they'll both get in?

Chicago doesn't make any sense to me. Neither does LA, really.

Same.

Toronto is the only remaining eastern conference team. I’ll be curious how much stock, if any they put into that.

As coronavirus testing for players heading to Orlando starts today, teams are bracing for significant numbers of positive tests. One Western Conference playoff team had four positives in past few weeks, per sources. Full training camps start on July 11 at Disney.

Curious to see what the nba numbers look like.

In general.

Mogilny was for a short time one of the best players on the planet. He started the revolution as the first defector. He pretty much paved the way for Russians in the NHL for good or ill.

Alfie because he had longevity, was a top-10 forward in the NHL for a few years in the early and mid-2000's and is the face of a franchise. (I think E. Staal will get in too). Big on the international scene...well liked by his peers. Crusty will get in...unless Scotty Nieds is in charge of the HHOF.

At least they're finally getting started. Baseball should've been at this stage a while ago.

Does anybody know if the bubbles are supposed to be truly self-contained? Will players be able to leave their hotels? Are staff (hotel, team, t.v., etc) locked up for the duration?

Technically speaking, Nedomansky.

It's funny, I had it in my mind that Mogilny's career was cut short, but the dude played 16 years in the league.

As we all know, the HHOF values longevity above everything else.

IMHO, Mike Gartner is not a HHOFer.

Fight me.

From what I understand:

- players will never be allowed to use the bubble. Same with NHL staff.

- people like hotel staff and restaurant staff will be tested every day, prior to being allowed to work (Vantel read that you can get results in 10 minutes - I don't know if this is true).

- and I'm assuming TV crew will never be allowed within 20 feet of players.

It's all probably doable.

I heard they were wanting it be set up like an Olympic village. Having places where the can roam around have dinners and so on but all stay within the village.

I think some cities were even pitching private golf course access.

It shouldn't really matter - without fans, in theory time zones don't matter.

From a PR perspective, Vancouver sounds like an easy choice - almost no active cases in the province.

My guess is the Mastercard Centre (or whatever the frank it is called) makes Toronto attractive, as you can have a huge practice facility with multiple rinks on lockdown for three months.

I always saw it that Alfredsson's best seasons were boosted by playing with two players that were better than him at the time. I'd rate Eric Staal as the same hard maybe as Alfredsson.

Gonna need Scott Niedermayer to be put in charge, then.

Is the MasterCard centre a full size NHL rink?

Could they theoretically have 2 games going at the same time between sba and MasterCard?

So my summer Covid project is I'm biting the bullet and tearing down/rebuilding a bike. I've only ever done minor repairs, should be fun.

That makes sense. It’s the only way you can hope to keep them safe. It’s what you get with Disney for the NBA. Hard to see how attractive downtown Toronto in August would be. Is their enough Olympic site left in Vancouver?
