Was the flyers trade proposed by a Flames fan?
Why not give them Hart, Provorov, and Couturier too. They are both equally ridiculous. - Shrike

So your readers come up with a bunch of fantasy trades. And now you want the readers to pick the best one? Well I guess that's an easy post. Some of these proposals are so far-fetched, yet you state these are the ones most likely to be offered?
For example, NYR has Panarin as a 1W. Then they decided to lock-up Kreider as a 2W. So why exactly would they trade DeAngelo, Georgiev, and a 1st for another top 6 LW in Gaudreau? Why didn't they just let Kreider go if Gaudreau is the answer? So you give up all those assets for a player that:
1) Doesn't fill a need
2) Would likely just walk in 2 years leaving you with nothing. Oh wait, for some random the reason the proposal also has a 5th round pick going to NYR. That changes things.
I dunno. Maybe a bit more analysis to weed out the trades that make zero sense. But sure, if I'm Calgary and NYR offers me this then I laugh all day long. - Kooleus
It's a fantasy trade to keep you in stitches. Who cares if it fills the needs of a team.

I’d say the most realistic deals are HockeyLifer with the philly trade: cap will have to come back and Voracek provides solid scoring and Farabee and Patrick are top prospects.
2nd most realistic is probably SAV0920 Butcher is a very solid pick moving D, bratt is a solid prospect still, and two high picks (Similar to Hall deal)
Worst is: any of the Buffalo proposals haha |

From a Sabres fan, I say this is the best offer
From NJD:
Hischier
Merkley
Severson
1st in 2020.
From CGY:
Gaudreau
Hanifin - Mentalorgasm5
Can you find the F in the word Way? because there is no f in way this deal makes sense Might as well throw in Zamboni and a personal chef while you are at it. As a Sabersfan ...you have you own problems to worry about |

Flyers are not trading Frost or Farabe...
I could see Ghost ..Jake and Rubstov or Brink |

To Buf: Gaudreau, Monahan, 2021 2nd
To Cal: Reinhart, Montour, Mittlestadt, 2020 1st, 2021 1st
This is by far the best deal for Calgary, but if the whole reason fantasy Gaudreau is getting traded is because they want to sign fantasy Hall, bringing in 3 dudes who are all due an immediate raise doesn't make much sense. - Hunkulese
I proposed this deal in that, from a Sabres perspective, picks and prospects are yesterdays news as far as keeping Jack & Dahlin happy. We need pieces to help us at least COMPETE for a playoff spot NEXT SEASON! Johnny with Jack and Monahan anchoring a 2nd line with Skinner or Olofsson gets us a legit top 6 going....not perfect, but MUCH more competitive! |

Ek, what are the owners saying about the Covid cases in Tampa? Have players been texting you about this? Maybe you should stretch out the Gaudreau story for a couple more days. It's only been like 8 days of talking about him. |

I think we should do this again with another player that is in question. Any recommendations? Besides Eichel. |

The trade is one sided because there is absolutely no reason to trade Gaudreau. If he has a good playoffs (unlike other years) then he is content to stay. If he has a bad playoffs but the team makes some progress, then he stays.
Ignore the 1st for a moment. Gaudreau gets you more than Hischier. Gaudreau + Hanaifin should equal Hiscier and Severson, at worst. That's the starting point. Maybe they would get to keep all 3 1st (if they get them). But's going to take either Merkey or the 1st to perk up CGY's ears. If you think that Hischier is worth more than Gaudreau, then I don't know what to say. |

I pray to God the Devils do not trade any of their picks and get involved in a bid for JG. Yes he is a great player, but I see a Greater Future for the Devils with the depth of talent they are amassing. With the way Blackwood is maturing - I think the Devs will be an elite team in a short amount of time. - JonnyGar
Agreed

Reinhart and Lindholm are both centres. A Hall-Reinhart-Lindholm line has the potential to be just as good as a Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm line.
No, Reinhart is a RW for the past 5 seasons save about 15 games a couple years ago. - IonSabres
#HUNKUBUZZ
The only way I pull the trigger on a deal with 3 guys on expiring (even RFA) contracts is if I
A) Have a contract in place with each of them before signing off on the deal and/or
B) If that 2020 first is a top 3 pick
Sending away two premiere players and potentially ending up with a bag of pucks is Chiarelli-level dealing.
Montour and Middelstadt are entirely replacement level players, so I had damn well better be getting Reinhart, one of Lafreniere/Byfield/Stutzle and a stud with that 1st next year, otherwise that deal is a failure for Treliving. |

They're both centres who play on the wing. They could figure something else. It's not that difficult to replace Monahan and lots of Flames fans have been calling for the Flames to try Lindholm at centre. |

Heck I thought my offer for newhook and Colorado’s 2020 1st is more realistic than some of these, yet it didn’t make the blog
