Anyone think the "secrecy" in not naming anyone who has tested positive is related to HIPPA rules? Does Canada have a HIPPA like rule?
- boilermaker100

Sort of. They have something called PIPEDA. Have to be honest. I didn't read through the material to see what differences there are, if any.

Having watched "The Lives Of Others", HIPPA is pretty much waived, what with contact tracing.

As mentioned things (Times) they are a changin. I’d hate to see the logo be changed, I like the logo, I feel it is honourable and classy, but ... I say that from my perspective and not from a Native one.

My daughter teaches at a native community, Kashechewan, on the western bank of James Bay. My daughter is extremely, almost militantly, Politically left of Center and she hated the Blackhawk logo. After a few months in the community she noticed Every sports team in the community used the Hawk logo on different coloured jerseys. The natives told her they found the logo was in good taste and they were proud of it. My daughter has now changed her view about the logo.

With all the changes in society it won’t surprise me if the logo is dropped.

- paulr

Thanks for this perspective. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see the logo dropped, but I’m glad to hear people of Native American descent in the area embrace it.

It’s sad to consider because I love the logo, but I understand if they do decide to change it.

I wonder what I would do with my old jersies if they decide to change the logo? I guess they would be kept as an heirloom of a time past. People looking back on them would probably find them absurd even though we look at them with love and find it commonplace.

I have friends who contracted COVID, both thankfully had mild symptoms, been over a month they still can't taste and smell, and one still has no energy

His best games were the last five or so before the season shut down. He was figuring out how to play with Kane. I agree he's not a burner on his skates like his brother. But he has a good shot and was figuring out how to get open with Kane and Strome feeding him. They did quite a bit of give and go work down low. I wish other guys on this team would do that too.
- GPHawksfan

Really don't see the harm in letting him grow in the NHL, it's not like the other young guys are lighting it up, Kirby, Strome, Cat struggled this year comparing previous years, our blue line is Keith and everyone else, Boqvist, Carlsson, now Mitchell all need NHL seasoning. I really like the young talent i see and the possibilities once these boys turn into men

Re: The Indianhead

A friend of mine owns Chicago costume and to keep food on the table for his three children during the pandemic, they started sewing together masks.
He actually sent me some, and asked if I wanted the one of three Blackhawk masks from his sports masks selections.
All three had the Indianhead on them two were it was prominent.

I started thinking about it..I wear it and dont live in the local team market, so there is a good chance many poeple see the mask and are not sure what it is representing.
(There was no words like Chicago or Blackhawks on them just the Indianhead.)
If you don't follow sports or hockey you may not know its has anything to do with hockey/sports. THERE are plenty of folks whose eyes see local teams and not much else.
Anyway, I declined on the offer of the Indainhead.

I just didn't need to have to talk about, or put you off by it (Like that Larry David sketch where he uses the MAGA hat to have California people back off form him.)
Isn't the idea when I have to be out there, that I try not to hang with you passer-by?

And I dont want feel put off by me, b/c I want you to know, if you need me as a stranger who will help, I want you feel that I can be approached...

I asked if he could make me the "Tomahawk C" in a mask?

So...you think the Tomahawk C can BE the replacement?

Regula Kurashev Black Aces?

You may see a dozen black Aces playing if there isn't a pause in the pandemic that everyone has started to ignore...

So do we put the NHL phase two on hold?
or is PHASE THREE ?
Last week, the NHL and NHLPA announced training camps (Phase 3) would open on July 10, “provided that medical and safety conditions allow and the parties have reached an overall agreement on resuming play.

"Three Lightning players and at least one staff member tested positive for COVID-19 this week, forcing the team to temporarily shut down its small group workouts in Phase 2 of the Return to Play,"
There have been 18 players working out at the Tampa facilities, with three groups of six split between Amalie Arena and TGH Sportsplex in Brandon.

The cases he in Florida have been going crazy since the Governor fell unlock step being the country's top executive.
Since June 10th the cases have spiked higher than any other days since this started...maybe, a little to do with the higher amount of testing, but...

Phase 2 is optional and players who choose to not go to a team facility can skate where they want and do not have to follow the guidelines agreed to by the NHL and NHL Players’ Association.

So where are we now?

(From the Athletic)Sources also said the NHL and NHLPA may for the remainder of Phase 2 simply announce “an NHL player or NHL players” tested positive for COVID-19 in perhaps a weekly report rather than continue to identify the player’s team or what market he was skating in, as first reported by TSN’s Bob McKenzie

(That sounds pretty convenient eh? It takes any direct connection of a name player to the pandemic off the table...)

I have a feeling this will end before it ever gets started. Hopefully football has a better plan than hockey or baseball.

Panarin was like really good as a kid and playing int he KHL at 18 \ 19 years old. You could tell watching his edge work and how he would attack the goal that he was probably going to be a special player.

Nylander is an ok skater and has very nice hands but he lollygags around, is rarely in the soft areas ready to shoot and not especially strong on his skates. He is pretty horrible on the boards and makes a lot of lazy passes. He doesn't look like a hockey player to me and I'd predict him to be in Europe after 2 seasons getting marginal NHL minutes.

Nobody ever drafted Panarin in the first round.

Actually in any round. But some guy named fattybeef watched him in the KHL an knew he was going to be a star. Too bad he never became a scout.

The entire "open" relationship with no agreement with the NHL and Russia has been a hinderance along with language culture and the game.

Everyone had Tarasenko as the a top three player in his draft year, as he clearly was more than a projection to BE an NHL player - there was little doubt in my mind I know and pretty sure the teams in the know felt the same.
That had little to do with tumbling on the draft board and being there at SIXTEEN.

There was little views of planarian because of the teams he played on and his not being on National squads that participate in the major International tourneys in his 17-20 years...so I am gonna say FEW scouts thought he was more than he was, weren't projecting him because there wasn't a clear picture or he simply wasn't the Artemi that worked himself into Patty Kane's best bud on the ice...and YOU could say the same for the Kaner that played across from Panarin...clearly not the same kid that was recognized as a sick handed offensive generator who needed more strength, because Kaner's game grew a lot too.

Imagine you are an NHL player and playing in a game in August as the NHL actually resumed the season.

A play develops wherein you have an opportunity to check the opponent
It is a solid choice to commit the check. The player you would check is A Mathews or someone else whom recovered from the virus.

Are you hesitant to try some other way, say poke check or try to angle off puck without making contact.

Of course even if Mathews could pass on the virus I do not imagine when checked he is going to cough or breathe into your face.

I just am tossing out the possibility that players who had the virus may get more free reign on the ice.

Yes or no?

But those who contract the virus may not have the energy to be effective for a 30 second shift, who knows

If they don’t test, there won’t be any disease:

“ When you do testing to that extent, you are gonna find more people, you’re gonna find more cases. So I said to my people slow the testing down please. They test and they test. We have tests that people don’t know what's going on,” Trump said in the rally.”

One of the dumbest statements i heard, if you test more people you're going to get more positive tests, so at what point does an intelligent conservative get insulted by their rhetoric

Btw did you sign your waiver, hahaha hahaha hahaha

So - if someone at the Tulsa arena gets infected, he or she can’t sue.

What happens if they infect me, a third party who hadn’t signed a waiver?

Can I sue the campaign?

Me too. I wear my Marty Marion glove on my left hand, and my Dee Fondy trapper mitt on my right.

I think Glenn Hall also wore a Dee Fondy trapper mitt....

All politics aside, we'll be highly fortunate if they are able to drop the puck in the fall, like normal.

I've been against finishing "this" season all along. Nothing but exhibition games. I go back to deHaan would be a fool to play any games counting towards this season.
