I don't think Bouwmeister ever played as mean as Risto can, but i could be wrong.

We’re also forgetting get was fired not for on the job performance, but for not cost cutting and being personally responsible for firing members of his own staff for things beyond his control. Which in of itself wreaks of toxicity and dysfunction beyond our imagination.

As far as on the job performance the problem is once your in a position as an individual where you’re back pedaling all the time and trying to point out tiny successes and just survive the day, you’re already done. Mentally you’re not seeing the big picture and it’s going to lead to more bad decisions.

Ironically enough I think he was fired for doing just that. He sacrificed winning in his first two years here because he didn’t want to overpay for assets when he felt the team was not ready. (Which in all honesty it wasn’t but it was impossible trying to convince a fan base that is starved for success after a long rebuild)

I honestly agreed with that and I was on the same wavelength and I feel that Dahlin and Cozens will be huge contributors to the “big picture”.

However this year he did make the moves for Vesey and Mojo to at least make a playoff push and when he fell short, botched the Scandella trade, then doubled down on it by acquiring frolik and Simmonds. (Which really just showed he was flying at the seat of his pants which went against my patience theory of going for it this offseason)

I know Eichel is fuming but I still think we are better off picking top 10 this year then being stuck in this Covid bonanza. We weren’t close to winning a cup this year but with a little lotto luck or even with no luck at all we will have another talented forward prospect fall into our laps.

I always felt this offseason was the year we were going for it and felt that way since 2018 as Jason’s short term moves indicated as such (at least until the last few months of his tenure as I mentioned earlier in this post)

He's a lot like Dion Phaneuf if we're being honest.

I like Rivet and Peters as people. In fact I could say I really like them and I think Peters gives some really honest and candid insight to his career and how it relates(and many times doesn’t) to the modern NHL.

However when I heard the recording of Peters being “shocked” that Botts was let go it proved why I don’t listen to them. Hockey at large is a boys club and no one criticizes the obvious, ever. To Peters and everyone else in his circle the fact that Botterill played in the show and was respected was enough for them. And they didn’t want to see anything bad happen to him. Meanwhile his on job performance was atrocious and only the fans suffer.

Ya know, I listened to that show that morning, and after further discussion, none of them were truly "shocked" that he was fired. They were surprised that he was fired after Tim and Kerry endorsed him three weeks earlier. In actuality, they all, especially River, reluctantly agreed with the firing.

Maybe if they didn't pay so many goddamn YouTubers to shill for them they could lower the price of their wallets a bit.

And the NHL should cancel the playoffs now players at risk for money is just disappointing and disturbing

What happens if these player give the virus to their kids or grandparents is it worth it ?

Deaths could be on the NHL hope they're ready for the backlash

- BINGO!

Bouwmeester played as soft as butter in the FL sun, at least during his time as a Panther. Very skilled, and contributed in other ways, but was not at all a physical defender.
