Quick draw clown... homie for ASG?!?

Can’t do anything about it, so I’m curious who Adams surrounds himself with...

That's another problem. Why would a competent individual leave a successful organization to join the Sabres?

I wouldn't unless there was a clear promotion with a nice increase in salary. And even then I'd have second thoughts based upon what's transpired in Buffalo

- Michael Pachla

anyone out there have ties to BUF (family/played for them)?
not sure if there is anyone out there like that...

That's the the biggest thing, the Pegulas have really hurt the organization in that regard. We shall see, gonna be difficult.

If I was young and looking to break into scouting or other aspects of the hockey dept, I'd be all over this opportunity. If I was an average or below average administrator type, I'd be all over this. That's what Kev and Ralphie will be choosing from.

They can mitigate that somewhat by paying a successful, veteran administrator to wade through all the inexperience and less than average talent a "leaner" operation attracts

Well... now we got a problem...

Just hire a president. Set the budget and financials and walk away. Can’t check that ego though. Still learning on the job (after 9 years) and now fixed in....

I read the Adams interview in The Athletic and he really seems like a neophyte. Right now he's floating on a cloud of adrenaline and, imo, naive positivity which makes him ripe for being taken advantage of.

Ralph will hopefully be the rope to keep him from floating away doing further damage to the organization and will be the cushion once he comes crashing back down to earth.

Dudley has made sense since darcy got canned

I never knew this happened, I find it a little hard to believe that Buffalo did this. What was the knock on Sheppard back then? Was his contract so bad that they couldn't trade him?
From the interview with Ray Sheppard by Panthers reporter George Richards,
In 1990, the Buffalo Sabres gave up on you and traded you to the Rangers for $1.
"I played three years in Buffalo. My first two years were really good. Then I had an injury. Rick Dudley was the coach at the time when I came back and the GM was Gerry Meehan. They obviously didn’t really think I was, you know, all that important to them. So when I tell the story, I say, ‘they sold me for a dollar.’ Everyone just kind of looks at you. New York took over my contract and Buffalo got a dollar for it."

Yes Ralph will help with that, Adams seems to be a smart guy, someone brought it up in some article that he studies everything, very detail oriented, We should find out pretty quickly how much the bloodletting affects his vision.

I will always maintain that Ralph is a good coach and if the Sabres let him go it will be a bad bad move.
Again I say the main problem with this team is secondary scoring and without that there’s little else that can make a difference

Hopefully they can bring in a couple of players that help with that secondary scoring. It's going to be a long off-season, hopefully Adams and Ralph can make it interesting in a good way.

Seriously, how hard is it to build a team around eichel and dahlin next season at 10 million + rookie league minimum?

Skinner 9 million or buy out

Cozens rookie league minimum

Need to be smart in regards to sam and risto/montour.

Lots of $ to work with.

Move the pick if it's not top 2.

People don’t get it. The Pegulas want to run the team. They want to make the decisions and only want a GM who will acquiesce to their will. This has been the problem all along.

They don’t want a president because Pat LaF ran away when he realized that neophytes would have the same amount of say as he did. And that made them look bad. And boy oh boy that’s unacceptable. O’Reilly made them look bad so they forced their GM to trade him for spare parts and a crap prospect.

They’ll never get a proven GM because any proven GM would never allow ownership to control what they’re doing.

Now we’ve got a GM who will be learning on the job, and capitulating to Kim because he has to. This is why everyone wants out of here because the players see how ridiculous it is.

I pray for the Pegulas to sell the team. They are narcissistic morons who think their success in the fracking business means they can run a hockey team. Please, please, please sell this team. We deserve better. You are the problem.

Eichel’s prime will be wasted, he will either demand a trade or leave as a FA. We will own the most pathetic record in the NHL. We will alienate our alumni, lose our fan base and replace Ottowa as the laughing stock of the league.

Terry is a weak willed personality and we all know it’s Kym who wears the pants in that relationship. They are stupid, irresponsible morons and we are all suffering for it. Adams was the biggest sycophant of the bunch so they kept him around. No experience as even an assistant GM but he’s got the job without a search because “we will spare no expense in building a SC champion.”

F the Pegulas. F the Pegulas. F the Pegulas.

They’ve done more damage to this hockey team than every one of people they’ve fired times ten. F the Pegulas!

I don't see Adams cutting his own throat by trading Eichel.

That's a bigger career suicide than trading O'Reilly.

I really wasn't talking about that, but really couldn't tell you this either, wouldnt think it would be as hard as it's been, but this Organization has failed at it. And I don’t think the Pegulas would let them buy out Skinner, there the ones that pushed it in the first place. I would be making calls on that pick, but what if it's 3rd pick if you are moving it it better be for some good pieces and I wouldn't pull the trigger until the 2nd pick is made, imagine if Byfield fell to 3 and we already traded the pick.
