It's too bad Adam's doesn't have his 3rd round pick next year.
Could have OS'd in the $6.4 - $8.4 range
Strome

Cirelli
Domi

He could have played the "what, What!?" Card as a totally inexperienced GM.

Who worth their weight is gonna sign in Buffalo for less $$$ and/or term
- Michael Pachla

Buffalo needs to have success by drafting, developing, and making trades.

You’re right, we do have to overpay to bring talent here. But how many times has overpaying in UFA been a good move for any team ?

The question is, would Skinner, or any other valued FA take that offer?

Imo, odds are against

- Michael Pachla

Sure and Skinner really had a negligent impact on the success of the team this year at $9M.

Was he worth it even this year ? Never mind once he hits 30 and he’s a $9M 3rd line winger.

Yeah,

Players are generally more likely to want to take the guaranteed money for longer term rather than short term, high AAV deals, because they assume a lot more risk on a shorter term deal. A single injury could cost you millions

UFA's don't build teams and never have. I say stay away from them except maybe a solid 3rd or 4th liner or if they need 3rd line D. Build the rest of the team through the draft and trades.

we have been rebuilding for 13 years, yet we really don't have the draft picks or high number of prospects to make more then 1 or 2 trades

Reverse filter or pressure grouting near buildings are the best solutions in my experience.

oh boy

John Vogl
@BuffaloVogl

Since you asked, heard a story from multiple people:

When they locked Harborcenter in March and melted the ice, they didn't properly monitor the HVAC. The boards warped and now need to be replaced.

Not saying Buffalo was ever going to be hub city, but I'm sure that didn't help.

I love how the NHL doesn't have Buffalo as one of their hub cities as NY in general has one of the lowest transmission rates of Covid right now.

As long as guaranteed contracts are a thing players are always going to take term.

Adams off to a great start. He WAS general manager of Harborcenter after all.

to offer sheet someone, you need to have your own pick

in normal years, when offer sheeting someone this summer, it involves 2021 picks

we are lacking a 3rd and a 5th in 2021

the third rd pick we do not have for this 2020 draft, would have prohibited us from offer sheeting someone LAST summer

As of 1/31/19 named GM of Harborcenter.

It was after all those guys resigned in disgrace.

I don't know about that.
Given the last 3 months, I don't see Kerry and Tim paying out ~$46m.

Could be an uphill battle to Buyout Okposo at $11m
