A couple thoughts...

One, from Riv, Petey, Razor this morning. It seems a lot of focus is on the potential of an internal cap and Pach even did a potential roster with a $75 mill ceiling... but but if it’s a overall player cap and by cutting some of the “vets” in Rochester, you are freeing up some internal cap space in Buffalo. So, listed below at the Rochester players over the age of 25 and what they are making. Who stays and who goes? And what’s the organizational savings?

AHL payroll...
Wilson (28) - $1.05 mill
Oglevie (25) - $925k
JSD (26) - $700k
Ellie - $700k
Cj Smith (25) - $700k
Lier (26) - $700k
Dalton (27) - $700k
Nelson (27) - $813
Gilmore (27) - $700k
Hammond (32) - $700k.

The second thought is from Friedman and looking at making some of the personal and making them “At will” employee’s or if contractual having pandemic language in the contracts. Allowing the club “off the hook” if you will. Maybe they are going to be looking into a different model or language in their hiring practices. Shrewd, yes... and I’m not smart enough to think through all the pros and cons of such moves.... but you might be seeing the start of trying something completely different from employment and/or contract language.

Not saying any of this is good or bad. Just things to discuss.

At least a few of those guys are on 2 way deals. If you want to save $, the first thing you do is minimize the one-way deals. Of course, that assumes the AHL plays games next year.

Are there any scouts left? Or just a minimum wage guy (or gal) to push play on video scout 3000....

5 XXXX isn't far away?
You lost me there.

Five roster spots, including trading away Reinhart and Risto, which presumably can fill two of them. Find an internal solution for one spot, and then sign two players.

It's really not that hard. Botts was unable to make a deal for a 2C, a top six wing, or any sort of goalie help. Any one of those moves and we are better, two of them and we are good. It's 100% on Botteril, not the cheap Pegulas, who at least spent over the cap.

Too bad there won't be a live draft this year. I would have liked to have seen Adams sitting at the Sabres draft table with Terry, Kim and Ralph - and nobody else.

What a joke of an organization. When Darcy promised some "suffering" for Sabres fans, I honestly didn't realize he meant two decades worth of it.

His wife doesn't count as part of the Sabres and Bills, or do you mean their non-sports companies?

honest question; would the central scouting dept have been any worse than what we've drafted over the last 11 years?

It truly is sad. Kim and Terry seemed flustered, unprepared and fake in the presser.

This could get real ugly. I worry the team isn't going to make it here long term. A barrier between ownership and the fans has formed, lot of distrust. Winning cures a lot, but it doesn't look like we're going to get saved by that.

I hope Adams is a real life super hero.

I have 5 friends who were on the fence about renewing their season tickets

all 5 did, and regretted it last night

I have 7 friends who were on the fence for getting season tickets next year, all 7 glad they didn't
