Kevyn has a lot of ex teammates and friends in the League that are GM's or AGM's, hopefully he will ask ? and learn something. And get his foot in the door for some potential trade opportunities.

so, just for fun I decided to take uncle terry's "leaner" approach somewhat to heart and decided to build a 20/21 roster under $75 million (not counting any potential overages and/or bonuses or hodgson's 800k buyout)...it wasn't easy and i'm sure grebe will say "one look at this and jack surely will want out"...

y'all can have at it as well as try your own hand at it:

9 years ago terry says - money is no longer an issue.

Things change. Its business. To hold him accountable for this statement, gets old.

But go on....

- Boss34

I red somewhere that he lost some $20-30m one season

oh

my!

There are rumors that the Sabres have lost $30 million since the Pegulas took over. That's a lot of money no matter how rich you are. Even if you make the playoffs every year, and get that revenue, I doubt it covers. Playoff games have operating costs as well. Even if the oil/gas industry is booming, and right now that's far from the case, eventually you have to make changes and just stop pumping cash into what's amounting into a money pit.

Trimming the fat in the organization is not the problem. It's how they are going about doing that. Nine years of futility and PR disasters indicate that every decision they make should be considered the wrong one until proven otherwise. The Bills of the 2000s and early 2010s were in the same category.

I thought it was $30 million over their entire tenure, but if you are correct, drastic changes did need to be made.

There's a place for it in the game, for me it is more player usages in certain situations but NOT to be used to build a team

I don't like the Miller trade or the lack of an upgrade in net but I bet we see something similar to this

can't remember exactly how it went, but losing $30m over nine years isn't anything to sneeze at either

"I want the sabres to do well because their fans deserve it"

Agree with this. Dont think they can do well with this ownership though..

- wingz4life

This is the stupidest logic. No one deserves their favorite sports teams to ever do good or bad. It’s all entertainment. If it’s not entertaining to you, do something that does. This isn’t a knock on you, but honestly we all dive head first into entertainment like it actually is something that’s the most important thing.

give it a try...pretty difficult

as for the miller trade, I think sabres fans overrate him...he's a third-pairing defenseman, imo
