I have no words so our drafting is OK so let's fire everything and everyone that makes zero sense

I hope Jack gets out of this he deserves better

The eye test is how talent is consistently passed over for really bad reasons. Or how players who don't produce are taken way too high.
- Michael Ghofrani

I will never agree about this, there's a reason why teams have scouts all over the world in every sport. Some math formula isn't going to tell you how good a player is.

So I will agree to disagree and move on.

The entire coaching staff in Rochester has been let go: Chris Taylor, Gord Dineen and Toby Petersen. Huge mistake, but Taylor was hired by Botterill and Sexton.

it's not even about the math. There aren't enough eyes to capture all meaningful data and then compare to their peers, it would be an exercise in futility. They compliment each other for a reason, the eyes and the numbers, because they give you a broader understanding.

It's no formula, all these models at the very core reflect on ice results. So when you reconvene with scouts you ask questions like "if he's such a good hitter why doesn't he hit good?"

Hope so. Go join the anarchists. Just remember you won't be able to make false police reports for a little broken glass anymore.

AHL won't start again until there's a vaccine, so this saves them $$$.

There were “philosophical differences” in that restructuring process. Sources said the Pegulas sought to shrink the staff, including cuts in scouting and management departments, in order to re-envision how it operated. Botterill was opposed to those changes, potentially viewing it as an unwelcome cost-cutting procedure.

"We're going to get leaner," Terry Pegula said

My wild guess is this is a cost-saving thing - no draft until October, so why keep guys on payroll?

Short-sighted to be sure.

Not too mention no hockey being played until who knows when. What are they scouting exactly for the next 4-6 months? I heard about scouts being let go a month ago.

If we're being brutally honest, a lot of these scouts should have been on thin ice budget or no budget
