True. I wasn't expecting them to blow the whole lot out. Although you could potentially drop Smith and Crawford and not really blink (assuming of course that they could find a slightly above average goalie to replace Crow).

A factor for the goalie situation is the unconfirmed salary cap and how that will dictate who the Hawks re-sign.

Also, will Crawford be willing to sign a short-term deal (1-2 years) at lower than his current salary? But if not, which goalies would be viable to be the starter instead?

If they prioritize Crawford and his salary is around what he makes now, that could significantly impact the ability to re-sign either or both Kubalik and Strome.

Crawford, Kubalik, and Strome (not necessarily in that order) are the priorities, IMO.

Then once you know where they land, then see what's left for the other free agents (Caggiula, Koekkoek, Subban) if there is any interest to retain them.

I don't think they will prioritize Crawford over those two. I expect them to play hardball with Strome like with Perlini albeit at a much higher number than Perlini got.

Just like Baseball closers.

Everything is good - then the slider flattens out, ball spins to no apparent purpose, can't throw a strike, and they can't get a save to save their lives.

Can’t they just go to the goalie store?

Tyler have any idea who will be the next president of hockey operations will be? Maybe a blog about that be a good read and possible candidates for the job. Recently heard a rumor the Eddie O wants out of the booth and get involved in hockey operations for a team. Maybe as a gm or in charge of hockey side of a team's operations. Do you Tyler think he be a good choice for either role for the hawks?
