If he put his faith in drafting, then why ship out picks for bland, low impact players?
- kingcong39

Yup, 18 draft picks over 3 years. The draft and develop line was a blatant lie

Jason wants to spend money smartly and though the draft

Terry doesn't have money for Kim to spend...

- Stripes77

Wanting to bring back Vesey, Larsson, Girgensons, and Simmonds is spending money smartly?

Kevyn Adams has been promoted from senior vice president of business administration to the full-time general manager job.

He was probably trying to sell them on Mittelstadt, Slenderman, Cozens, Vesey and all 15 Larrys and they finally realized that's a terrible thing to do for the 3rd year in a row
- jcragcrumple

it's possible...from a business standpoint, as the natives in buffalo have grown extremely restless and are not attending the games

They cleaned house completely

In June

granted this year is different with Covid but who is going to run the draft?

- Stripes77

The lottery is on the 26th, but when will the actual draft be? October?

There's plenty of time to be ready.

To appease the impatient and try to put depth in place to try to move the team forward without having to overpay for someone who will be declining in 2 years time.

yeah...perhaps a real hockey person with a level of influence within the upper reaches of the organization would have recognized this

This team desperately needs somebody to stand between the Pegula's and the organization. What a mess.

Understood, but when his line is always about drafting and development, it's undercut by the fact that only made 6 selections a year due to his bargain basement trades that resulted in a bunch of players who were either not good or totally unnecessary

It seems like we have a plethora of low ceiling defenseman. Simmonds, Frolik, Pilut the past year has been an embarrassment for Botts. Those moves are on Botts, has nothing to do with the ownership. DeDominicis is saying there's still more to come here. He was spot on for the trade deadline coverage. I'll enjoy today knowing Botts is gone

There is chatter out there that they are bringing in a VP of Hockey Ops.

So he decided to play the middle, in gambling parlance, which is not a good idea.

Putting depth in place was drafting Kaliyev instead of Johnson last year, and keeping picks instead of sending them out the door for mediocre garbage returns.

If you want to put depth in place, keep your picks and sign low level, short term 1 or 2 year UFA's.

ass clowns, the both of them. Not that Botterill was a genius but he know's more them Kim.

This franchise looks more and more like a freak show by the day. No playoffs in years and no cups but let's hire Kevyn Adams.

A lot of pressure on ralph this year...the locker room, most notably jack, has got to be looking at this with a collective head shake and a rather pronounced, JFC

I never said I agreed with everything he did. I’ve said numerous times I was hoping for Brink at that pick not Johnson.

I also never understood the Vesey, Frolik, and Simmonds trades nor why he only got a 4th back from Scandella (to his credit though he didn’t know J-Bo was gonna nearly die on the bench).

Hopefully Adams can be the guy who moves one of Risto/Montour for forward help and doesn’t trade this years pick in order to address the short term.
