I think Josh Allen should put his efforts into reading defenses or maybe completing a long ball occasionally instead of getting involved in the Buffalo police actions.

Like any comments or stance of overpaid sports figures or the Hollywood bunch actually mean poop.

Your concern for the potentially deleterious effects of the RNC convention on the restaurants, businesses, and corporate entities of downtown Cleveland, and by extension Tampa Bay, is duly noted.

it's actually Jacksonville, so getting that right would be a start on your part...also, I have no concern for any city that hosts the convention as there will be big money involved...just telling what happened in Cleveland in 2016...if you don't like it or don't believe it, that's your concern, not mine

Cool. Jacksonville. That totally changes how unintentionally hilarious that post was. How was my grammar? Ok?

you get a quarter for deleterious...

but your reading comprehension sux...I stated facts which you turned into an opinion...if you don't like it or don't believe it or want to twist it into a convenient narrative that fits your needs, that's your problem, not mine

a quick note on how the GOP convention worked in Cleveland...the hotel i was at was obviously booked at top-rate...good for the rooms divisions...

the delegates and what-nots had their days pretty much planned which meant leaving the hotel for their destination(s) sometime mid-late morning...bad for the outlets/bar save for breakfast which did decent business...

they came back to the hotel late night/early a.m...the state of ohio allowed businesses to apply for extended liquor licenses that would allow them to stay open until 4 am as opposed to 2 am...most of the conventioneers, like over 90%, strolled right by the bar and went to bed...there was very little business from them...

from what i heard, there were designated areas that these conventioneers went to...for the businesses that held these events, revenue was great...ancilliary business, not so much...

one final note...a number of new hotels sprouted up for the convention and when the gop left the competition for regular business was very intense...an airport Marriott that had been such for nearly 50 years went into foreclosure and will soon become a Radisson

just sayin'

The above sounds similar on a much smaller scale to the impact the Olympics have on locations where they are held.

I've always wondered: why does a keyboard warrior's comments/thoughts mean more or have more validity than an athlete or entertainer? Why does the athlete or entertainer 'need to keep quiet'?

My reading comprehension is fine. What you are suffering from is a dearth of self-awareness so complete that it's a wonder that it was produced by a mind that offers such impressive, well-researched, and nuanced hockey takes. It's like two different people.

i think he's got enough talent to be considered top-nine and maybe that's why they're looking at a 3-yr. deal
- Michael Pachla

Maybe the 9th forward? On the Sabres for sure. But to advance in the playoffs, vesey is probably 10-12 forward

It would be nIce to see some talent/ pk / defensive shutdown out of vesey.

I appreciate the love for the hockey part, however, I lived the rnc in Cleveland...that's what I witnessed first-hand...never said it would happen in Jacksonville, tampa or anywhere else

The Sabres have a #2 center sitting right under their nose...

Sam Reinhart, the #2 overall, pass first, high hockey iq selection played center his entire life! Now that he’s has some time to fill out his frame and get his feet under him, he’s certainly ready for a full time center role (especially if he’s looking for a big pay check).

Reinhart compares well to Ryan Nugent Hopkins, so let him be for us what RNH is for Edm. A line of Skinner/Reinhart/Kalhun has a on of potential. Reinharts passing and vision is the perfect recipe to reignite Skinners scoring touch.

Then sign T. Tofolli to ride shotgun to Eichel. If Tofolli can net 20-25g in LA, he could get 30 with Jack.

They should have tried Reinhart at Center for an extended period of time during the last 2 seasons, agreed.

The fact that they did not seems to clearly indicate it is never going to happen.

Certainly? Still plenty of concern that he can match up with bigger, stronger, faster centers.

I remember hearing, probably during a wgr interview, that sam is better using his high IQ off-the-wall on the wing, also behind and in front of the net and that it's better that he not have the middle-of-the-ice defensive responsibilities that go with being a center...i'm pretty sure that's how it went and I tend to agree...

don't shoot me, but that's what I recall hearing

I've always wondered: how many centers are actually fast, aside from the obvious few?

Bigger and stronger, sure. Faster? I'm not sure there are a ton of fast centers out there.

the difference between cleveland and jacksonville is small

cleveland has the indians
we have tpc

we are about 30 degrees warmer down here
cleveland has the rock and roll hall of fame

jacksonville has the creature from the black lagoon
cleveland has howard the duck

that's about it

Reinhart actually has played center for the Sabres and has looked great and there.

Obviously he wasn’t the biggest, strongest, or fastest in juniors either, but he thrived there because he was a smart and heady distributor who could anticipate the play and outlet the puck to faster players. Reinhart also shown grit and a willingness to go in the front of the net and he has been rewarded for doing so.

How big, strong, fast is a guy like Patrice Bergeron, or a guy like Ryan Nugent Hopkins anyway? Reinhart is older now and up for the challenge.
