He had 99 last season, guys have off years...most of the team has and his center has played poorly. Not to mention he is back to PPG since the all star break.

Pretty silly to right him off because of one down year

Hope you're right and for the record I did say he is still an excellent player I just don't see him repeating his 2018-19 numbers.

Curious to see if you did the cap figures on this or not.

I don’t think your numbers on Holtby are that far off. He’ll probably get at least 9/year, but if you’re offering 7 years at age 30, he might take the sure payment. Not sure I’d wanna lock him down for that long, but hey, that’s me. Some net-minders play good hockey into their mid and late 30s. Some don’t. It’s a risk.

Edmonton is not out of the race, Hall has unfinished business in Edmonton. Holland will get it done.

Edmonton dumped him for a sack of crap.

His unfinished business is to beat the oilers 24/7 for the rest of his career.

Won’t be long and mcdavid will demand a trade.

Oilers are so horrible.

Johnny Gaudreau out and Taylor Hall, a couple of high draft picks and a prospect in?

Done like dinner.

Played with his dad in south jersey. I would think that maybe they grew up watching the Flyers. Would love to see him in orange and black.

Taylor Hall to Calgary certainly makes sense but its really impossible to predict what the salary cap and free agency will look like going forward. Not to mention the rumors of added buyouts.

My guess is that Hall will have to settle for good deal less then he was looking at early in the year. It could make him more agreeable to a short term deal thinking things will improve in a season or two. Teams are certainly going to feel a bit of a pinch financially in short term... and the player will too.

Oilers are a few pieces away from a Cup run.
If the NHL offers compliance buyouts then I think they buyout James Neal and potentially trade Russell. There’s $9-10 million to find another top six winger for McDavid. Add some bottom six muscle and you have a contender.

I honestly think Hall would fit in like peas and carrots on the Avalanche. If he signs a decent deal then that team will be out of sight.

I don’t like the idea of the Flames signing Taylor Hall because he’s injury prone and he’s abysmal in the locker room. Have a look at the stats on NJ and AZ before and after the trade. AZ dropped from top of the Pacific to what 10th last overall. Hall has been a solid performer - when healthy - but I would not gut your roster for him.

The guy I’d like to see the Flames grab is Alex Pietrangelo. Likely the same cap hit but he will bring so much more to the team. Not sure he would go to Calgary as he will have his pick of where he goes. Just imagine if you will:
Giordano - Andersson
Hanifin - Pietrangelo
Valimaki - whoever
That’s a top 4 that you can match up vs anyone in the NHL.

Then I say they should chase Toffoli as well. I think he played with Monahan in Ottawa 67’s.

With their first round pick they should draft either a stud RD like Braden Schneider or Helge Grans; or a C like Dylan Holloway or Connor Zary. Or a RW like Tyson Foerster or Jack Quinn.

Absolutely not. I'll keep Bobby over Milan, thank you very much. Ryan is a gem of a dude. He's so likeable, and he fits the team and room just fine. It's hard not to root for him.
