DeMelo will likely cost close to double the $1.6M you have him estimated at, plus he's an RHD.

You also have Dillon, an LHD, playing his off side as well.

The pairings like this would work:

Dahlin - Jokiharju
Dillon - DeMelo
McCabe - Miller

Nationalism was a core tenant of Hitler's rise to power. It was the Motherland against the world for what they did to them after WWI. For her to not know that is pretty foolish.
- Michael Pachla

I think she's well aware of all that, She explained what her views on Hitler, and how he's most tied to the word nationalism, (I guess the whole point she was trying to make in the snippet Lieu used was that Hitler wasn't a true nationalist) when she finally got a chance to speak. And she then explained how Mr Lieu tried to use her words out of context.

Here's the background story if you're interested. Gonna withhold judgement. https://www.al.com/life/2...eorge-floyd-protests.html

Apparently her video stuck in his head and in the heat of some moment, of which heated moments were said to happen often with him, he went off on Floyd, whom he called a "thug," and the protesters whom he called "idiots."

There's a lot to unpack and I'll need to do some research as to how and why Owens got involved. Thx for getting me to do some research on a subject I didn't know about.

Thanks for sharing this, Pach. At first glance, it looks like an angry business owner who shot of his mouth with an unpopular opinion. Then it ends up on social media and the so called "cancel culture" kicked into gear trying to bury him.

So she says. I didn't hear the entire interview she was referring to. If anyone has a clip, I'd listen to it. It sounds to me as if she tried to walk back the Hitler statement.

Actually, and I feel like I might be qualified to speak to this more than anyone else on the board, it's a pretty crazy thing for her to try to defend nationalism.

Her quote is "If Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well โ€” OK, fine," she says. "The problem is ... he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize. He wanted everybody to be German."

It's true that Hitler and the Nazis pursued a policy of expansion to find "Lebensraum," but that aggression toward and occupation of other nation states (and Britains initial policy of appeasment), which were both a big part of the cause of WW2, started in 1939.

Before Hitler did anything about his dreams outside of Germany, he was focused first on what he thought would "make Germany great and have things run well." This included the prosecution and stripping of liberties from those Hitler didn't consider German, even though they had lived in the country for generations. It also included the creation of the concentration camps where those non-Germans were taken into "Protective custody" before Hitler devised and implements his so-called "final solution." The camps opened in 1938. That's nationalism taken to its extreme. Thats what happens when we draw lines about how people are treated, even in our own society, based on the us vs. them.

Candace Owens believed if Hitler had just focused his nationalism internally in Germany "OK, fine."

And somebody thinks Ted Lieu looks like a fool in that clip????

You are right, thought Dillon played off, DeMelo only made 925k last year. I donโ€™t know if he will triple that. But I definitely made a mistake how I put them together.

They still work as a group, which is all that matters.

There is a lot of love for DeMelo in the league, especially by advanced stats devotees.

Good post 36

I think the issue is upgrading hutton.

I like the ullmark/ 6k future spot, but we need a good solid goalie.

Maybe ranta from Arizona? Grubauer?

Hutts lost the confidence of the team.

- Michael Pachla

She explained when she got to speak, that it occurred during the course of a two hour symposium. She answered a question, which wasn't included in the sound bite used by Mr Lieu, and it's not included here, either. But her entire reply is. https://youtu.be/XCIxOXwubV0.
This commentator takes the contrived Hitler endorsement and runs with it. Interestingly enough this commentator didn't bother to include the part from the hearing when she finally got to speak her rebuttal which Lieu did all he could to prevent. This commentator just totally omits that part from his story. ๐Ÿค”
I'm gonna try to find out more from this nationalism conference or whatever the hell it was where the original statement occured.

Nationalism on it's own is not necessarily bad. Hitler was also a Socialist. Shouldl I start making assumptions?

Why didn't Lieu include the question that she was replying to? I guess her whole premise was Hitler wasn't a true nationalist, due all of those horrible things he did to the citizens of his nation. She never said Hitler was a good leader or anything close. Which is what Lieu tried to portray it as.

Didn't Dillon just come of a 3.25m per contract, and that surprises me with DeMelo, he just came of a 925k per

Would I take a 2nd pair of Dillon - DeMelo at a combined $6.581M for the next 2 years if it also means a significant forward upgrade as well? Yes sir.

Would I be comfortable with a pair of Dillon - DeMelo at a combined $7M per for the next 4 years, until Dillon is 33 and DeMelo is 31, while having the pair of Dahlin and Jokiharju earning significant raises?

That's where things get a little more tricky.
