Like Dell, and DeMelo solid choice decent defensive defenseman that shouldn't break the Bank.

DeMelo is ranked in the top 30 FA with The Hockey News.

Over simplification for sure, but seems as though it is an attempt to create individualized +/-.
My beef in using xGF is that ignores a specific player's shooting quality and therefore needs to contain that specific metric to really individualize it and be relative to a specific player.

As for your beef on XG, you can compare it to a player's shooting percentage/ goals for percentage over an extended period of time to determine if there is any real shooting talent or not.

Eichel for example, has a history of shooting above his expected goals for.

I don't know, he's 32 or 33 I believe, he hasn't played football in what 3 yrs. Guess it would depend on what he wants contract wise. They are saying the Cap could go down as much as 40mill next year.
