2,500 Americans dead on the beaches on Normandy, 76 years ago today....

400,000 dead during all of WWII....

Let’s remember and honor them all by really working at making our country one that embodies and lives by the values that they gave their lives for.

No, I get it. I understand that as a percentage of population, black people are killed by cops more than white people. However, I also understand that black people commit more crimes (as a percentage of the population) than white people, so they're more likely to be on the other side of the cop's gun. We could debate why that is for days, but it is a fact.
I could get behind "Black lives matter, too." What I really object to is being called racist because I believe all lives matter. I'm sick of name-calling. I'm sick of division. None of this helps move the narrative in a positive direction. We had a chance to move forward. This was the first time I can remember where just about everyone was on the same side. I saw a poll that said that 94 or 96% (can't remember which one) of people thought the cops should be charged in Floyd's death. No issue ever has that much support. We could have had a real dialog on race in this country, maybe for the first time. Unfortunately, the rioters came in, and took over. Just like that, we are divided again.

Packed stadium is the most detrimental factor for ice conditions
- 6628

Even though, I was assured that with play past Memorial Day there would still be fast games on good ice, it always seemed that when watching live the ice would degenerate before the period ended more rapidly than in the colder months.

With that I do realized there have been teams in warm climates for along time so my argument would be saying there ices would be slower all year.

So these summer games can provide good ice 'cause no one is there, but since these extended spring summer post season will be around more than a few years to catch up and reset the schedules to ge. ack to at least late October November starts, what happened when the areas ARE full of fans in 2021 spring summer...will the ice be poor and this the ice product is affected my the summer.

I dunno, assure me I am incorrect.

(and Why It's Problematic to Say "All Lives Matter")

- wiz1901

That's really an interesting view point that by saying it people feel it takes away from black lives matter. The video of the house on fire, that makes no sense, when i say it both houses are on fire, not one. I guess people take that comment as minimizing their suffering. I don't mean it that way, my interpretation is many people are suffering and being abused and i care about all of them.

IMO, if the veterans falter, then what do the Hawks have to lose by just running with the youth instead. It can't be that much worse especially if you pair each of them with a veteran:

Keith - Boqvist
Beaudin - Murphy
de Haan/Maatta - Carlsson
Koekkoek

- AEL_Fox

De Haan should be healthy for the Covid tournament if and when it ever starts ,he seems to be good for 20 or 30 games . I don't know about Beaudin over Maatta but what you got to lose in these Summer school games .

No, it's facts from the FBI. I'm sorry you wish to bury your head in the sand, but when 13% of the population commits 27% of the total crime, 53% of murders, 54% of robberies, and the only crimes that approach their percentage of the population are liquor laws (about 14%), and suspicion (22%), what I said was a fact. As a percentage of population, they commit more crimes.

I have stayed off for a while of this because of moronic stupidity like this and JC's virtue signaling. But this needs to be addressed.

Most of us do not accept the premise, you may have to look that word up.

Take your privilege and other bs and pound sand.

Your assumption is that their is unanimous agreement in the premise, but facts show they are not. Ebony Raptor nailed it a few pages back. The bigotry of low expectations is the crime.

The irony of all this is that the people who have run once beautiful places into the ground are all of the same political persuasion. Yet, they blame others for their problems. What is going to be funny is if the Elite guilty liberal morons get their way and create violence, it will be quickly redirected at them, as the people they are riling up realize it was their faith in their failed ideas that has brought us to where we are.

Nothing in all the fabricated nonsense from the left over the last 4 years has any intention of helping anyone they claim to care about. Lots of people, especially African Americans realize this.

Notice that all lefty's like to shut down debate, as they are intellectually unable to cite facts.

Keep your focus up in Canada and go polish black face Trudeaus knob and stop wasting key strokes.

you git the stats on the linkage to slavery and economic expansinsion in that 27% too.

This isn't about burying heads, as much as a chance to F I N A L L Y really truly work for as solution without partisan responses.

It's tough and I really take issue that anyone doesn't see that the "they" have a clear identifiable feature in their composition that you don't...and until you do, it is a tough seeing the FBI out of reality...
unrelated but maybe relatable...I domino know if you remember AL Hoyfiled who was a multi-millionaire who tried dun successful at becoming the Illinois Governor?

Well, his son, Al junior, as his college project didn't put on blackface but did make himself homeless the entire summer, mostly in the Lincoln Park area.
He met lots of people heard stories and was sleeping on the street unless she could get inside some way.
If you want to site facts, his might give prespective...

and Grit, I am confused by "fabricated nonsense' and "from the left" over the and "last 4 years", but I am gonna guess this is about the results of a national election?

What isn't fabricated is ...you are terrific father...and love your, and your country...I saw you in action at the "bolts" game and will continue to feel these conversations wear on all us, and there are good people wrapped around incorrect issues, and they (we) with our opinions that offer are getting nowhere in terms of educating each other.
But when 99% of media outlets are owned by a few rich folks we continue to try and sprinkle our tidbits by way of posts, hoping we do see room for partisanship on this and all the issues that we seem to think folks have blinders on and hope to find common ground.

A little Johnny Cash and why I fly the red white and blue in front of my house.

I walked through a county courthouse square
On a park bench an old man was sitting there
I said, your old courthouse is kinda run down
He said, naw, it'll do for our little town
I said, your old flagpole has leaned a little bit
And that's a ragged old flag you got hanging on it
He said, have a seat, and I sat down
Is this the first time you've been to our little town?
I said, I think it is
He said, I don't like to brag
But we're kinda proud of that ragged old flag
You see, we got a little hole in that flag there when
Washington took it across the Delaware
And it got powder-burned the night Francis Scott Key
Sat watching it writing say can you see
And it got a bad rip in New Orleans
With Packingham and Jackson tuggin' at its seams
And it almost fell at the Alamo
Beside the texas flag, but she waved on though
She got cut with a sword at Chancellorsville
And she got cut again at Shiloh Hill
There was Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, and Bragg
And the south wind blew hard on that ragged old flag
On Flanders field in World War one
She got a big hole from a Bertha gun
She turned blood red in World War Two
She hung limp and low a time or two
She was in Korea and Vietnam
She went where she was sent by Uncle Sam
She waved from our ships upon the Briny foam
And now they've about quit waving her back here at home
In her own good land here she's been abused
She's been burned, dishonored, denied, and refused
And the government for which she stands
Is scandalized throughout the land
And she's getting threadbare and wearing thin
But she's in good shape for the shape she's in
'Cause she's been through the fire before
And I believe she can take a whole lot more
So we raise her up every morning
We take her down every night
We don't let her touch the ground and we fold her up right
On second thought, I do like to brag
'Cause I'm mighty proud of that ragged old flag

I promise, I am off of the debate after this one, but I thought I would "fess up about my upringing...

I grew up in a Polish Italian neighborhood before the neighborhood became a Mexican - Puetro Rican one due to white flight. The POC lived on the other side of Hubbard Street south of Grand Ave. There wasn't a male in my family and our family group like, Uncles, or play uncles or friends who didn't alway mention their apprehension of the POC from those neighborhoods, using with the Italian word for eggplant taking the more "polite" hidden version of name of the entire group. There was a constant conversations of them as outward threats to our existence. My extended family eventually moved to the 'burbs because they had thee economic ability to distance themselves.
I never be-grudge them,or cared about their moves, until my wife and kids came to family functions and many of these blood family members started question. my wife and I on how we were able to teach those kids. I guess this was telling to the problem for me.

And not saying this is an unknown fact but in the 1900's through 1930's area around
the area where the Chicago Stadium was built Madison Warren going west to western were house built as permanent residents for the cities German population
...impressive house built there back in the early 1880's to the turn of the century.
But just like any people in established ethnic neighborhoods, they got a bit richer and wanted to buy build in other neighborhoods, so more and more of the WARREN & MADISON street house became av available to tenants and theiose tenants were newly arriving Polish...(yeah this story is long. but going somewhere)
I spent lots of weekends in the downtown library on microfishe and even on these old newspaper bounded volumes of the papers....those papers cited in more than one article about the neighborhoods "polish problem."
How they were unclean, use bathtubs to cook in

(I know my family in the burbw mentioned more than once how people in the projects were using their bathtubs to BBQ) And instead of placing one poor family and each and every Chicago city block they projects were built...they could be with 'their own kind.'[/I])

BUT unless you heard poles talk, they were like you, unless a JEWISH PERSON today, your neighbor doesn't tell you (or you redone the Mezuzah on their front door, they were like you...TO ME...This is where the ALL lives and Black Lives divides because even though you are comfortable in your situation (except for the fact Mount Prospect might erupt joke)...you persist to preoccupy yourself with targeting others.

that is why this IS DIFFERENT ... as soon as there is a recognizable feature in skin or clothes ... there is a target.

And history doesn't deny the use of the word target and I think that if we all understand that happens violently or SUBTLELY....LIKE WHEN the pastor of the church I attend confess that he realizes he laid his wallet down in the store, and saw a man of color and quickly bolted to where he had been on the premises because he felt the urge, and knew he would have reacted different if the man was not different.

Slavery ended 155 years ago. No one alive today has been directly impacted by slavery. They have had to deal with racism, but the biggest issue in the black community is the liberal policies that created the ghettos that they live in. How many black people are murdered in Chicago every year? How many of those crimes go unsolved? Who has run the city forever? What was NYC like before Giuliano? Liberal policies may come from a good place, but they fail every time.

MY family got here because they couldn't feed the girls in Poland the boys stayed there b/c they could work...so they found sponsors in Chicago, and they married polish men they met here.

They never had to work off of a share cropping land and continue to be indentured servants.
You think these Polish men and women were given the equal opportunities towards jobs? Where they NOT preferred hires over people of color?????? be honest...

There is nothing liberal about understanding even these ignorant non speaking polish MF's in MY family had a head up on people who were born here..if you think there is some l i b e r a l thinking in that ?

My family didn't live in a housing project but I guess they contributed to that Polish neighborhood becoming poor areas.

Yeah I think it was ALL this Chicago Black politicians that created this giant apartment buildings ... I guess all the liberals didn't want the mixing of the races...

ok I am done...

Maybe no games in a hub in Canada, but I am betting this happens even if players opted out or get sick...

Here in Florida the last four days has had an average of 1000 new cases of the virus, 3 of the 4 days were the ranked higher in number of cases than any other days since this started. Welcome to DisneyWorld NBA, we are opening for business.
In the county that I live in I have recorded the daily figures of case increase and deaths, but of course there is little corelation between the deaths because the jumps take places much later that the recognition of the cases and of course since we started with a lot fewer folks being tested so that was early on...so that throws off things too.

...and you as you and I know a nursing home can be a daisy chain of deaths, and quite different than me getting it from my neighborhood pod.

In general except the minority that refuses the science of masks and distance, most are voluntarily compliant and that will help...and if you are a math guy, you can crunch the deaths / cases and total population and start feeling in general for your age group in good health you are ok to move forward.

Our non-liberal Governor (that was for you, TrueGrit lol-and I just want you to know honestly I have never seen NBC 24 news with Rachel Meadow, or CNN, or ABC but will confess when bad things happen I turn on Fox to hear the ridiculous spin their so I can laugh at the desperation in there fair but balanced sand--they even say that anymore? Hell I won't watch the nighttime or spectrum either because I don't like snippets.) has moved in lock step with the Federal executive branch to promote economics getting back to normal, offering red carpets to the NBA because jobs/econmy are one of the few things that help sell a re election.
I just hope for all our sakes this doesn't spread more than the misunderstanding of science.
