Maybe the kid will work out, but probably gonna take some time to find out.

Overall, I wanted to call out the decent rookie production the team introduced last year. Hawks had 3 players in the top 11 for total points for rookies. It's a good thing for the future development of the team. We got official rookie seasons from Kubalik, Nylander, Dach, Boqvist, and Highmore. A few guys got a taste and I hope we see them again, in Carlsson, Hagel, Beaudin.

Some potential rookies next season?

Mitchell, Barratt, Krys, Chalupa, Teply, Altybarmakyan, Nilsson, Entwistle, Hakkarainen, Kurashev (There are of course others)

Would be nice to see a couple more names make the NHL jump and have even some moderate success to help the team build up the depth and fight the previous rookies for ice time.

Because it's a gimmick by the NHL. This team has no business in the playoffs. Might as well give them a participation trophy because they will be one and done.

Well technically we don’t know for 100% certain who has business in the playoffs considering some teams(such as the Hawks) were robbed of a chance(however unlikely it may have been, crazier things have happened) to make a late push for a wild card spot when the regular season was cut short. Hence why they’ve expanded the post season to include those teams.

I honestly don’t get the doom and gloom coming from so many people about this format/potential playoff scenario. Like, can’t you just be happy there’s anything at all? Crazy extraneous circumstances. A once in a lifetime situation. Let’s take what we can get and look forward to the action!! No sense in being all upset about it.

I think they were really considering this a qualifying round, so we haven't really made the playoffs officially unless we defeat Edmonton.

LOL...the hawks were going to robbed of that 2% chance of making the playoffs they had if the season had gone on... - but right now EVERY team that was high in the standings is worried about getting booted out and they should be!

I think the HAWKS have a very real chance to beat EDM ,unfortunately after that it will be tough sledding .Who knows Crow plays great ,couple kids catch fire it may get interesting .
Would just hate to see them win then go out in 4 or 5 games and blow the top ten pick . Such is life .

C'mon man that's hilarious there's no way this team would have made it. As we a watched all year long the team was very inconsistent with their play. The only thing that you can count on was a bad defense that turned the puck over and was always giving up quality chances. The goalies stopped alot of rubber which made the final score somewhat decent. I prefer the the pick in the draft with the possibility of moving up. Hey I never said I would not watch seriously what else is there to do.

Crazier things have happened. Teams have went on runs. If not the Hawks who’s to say some other teams might not have? How do we know for certain that the 16 teams currently in playoff position would have wound up being the exact same 16 teams by seasons end? So, just this once given these circumstances, why not extend it one extra round? Makes perfect sense if you ask me.

Well we all know for certain had the season not been stopped because of the pandemic. This current Hawks team was not going to be in the playoffs and that is a fact. The team was just playing out the season some real changes need to happen to bring this team back into contention. Hmmm maybe selecting in the top 10 of draft could help in changing our playoff drought.

Ya no kidding it is a justifiable concern .Deep draft may still snag a decent prospect at 17. One of maybe Holloway Quinn Mercier may slide down . Or maybe even Askarov

Dialed in Crow and Kane racking up points can move them through against the Oilers and a decent shot at if they draw the Stars.

The whole playoff structure is a gimmick: play 6+ months to eliminate Ottawa (in basketball, it was Cleveland).

Is the 16th team in really deserving of a post season spot? Any team out of the top 10 (I’ll be generous)?

It’s all a structure that we fans accept - just like 24 teams in.

I am well. Once the season went lights out and Covid hit. Hanging around here didn't make any sense.

All is well here in the Shenendoah Valley for now. Been a great 2020 so far: phony impeachment, Covid, economic collapse and now a race war...

Glad I am here than in Chicago...2nd ammendment rights looking good now...

anyway no fan of the sham playoff, won't be watching...my guess there is a good chance it doesn't happen...

stay safe

Plz go be miserable elsewhere. I’m sick of these “poops only gonna get worse” fear-spreading pessimists.

All the people female doging and being miserable about the potential playoff format/predicting it won’t even happen are also the same people spewing the “it’s only gonna get worse” narrative when it comes to the virus.

Says a lot about those people. That’s just the way your mind operates in general. How anyone can get through life with that kinda attitude/mindset it beyond me.

Who are you to tell people to go elsewhere ,don't like it don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out . I also believe it is a idiotic scenario to start almost a brand new season and call it the Stanley Cup Playoffs .,Every other hockey league has called it quits and for good reason . They shut the NHL down in 1918 ,we should learn from our history . This is greed piled on the back of a pandemic
I will watch if they manage to get this farce off the ground ,and may ridicule mock belittle and laugh at the whole circus. And if that bother you well even better .

A week or so ago it was announced the Hawks weren't signing goalie prospects Gravel or Peeters. No big loss on either although not signing Gravel was a tad surprising.

The Hawks also have decided to not sign forward From (Danish descent playing in Sweden) and defensemen Ryczek who was on a one-year AHL deal this past season. No surprises with either.

Although he had decent showings at the July prospect camps, From just never inserted himself into the conversation as a prospect to keep an eye on.

Ryczek is likely a career minor leaguer (AHL/ECHL tweener) who could ply his trade overseas down the road.
