A lot of parallels to the doctor Golfsey mentioned.

Entitlement. Arrogance. They should be put in a sealed room with kaptaan and Lord Alt-right indefinitely.

I have said it a few times now since the beginning of the pandemic. This scares me more than the virus.

People right now are looking for a fight. It is is going to get worse and soon it is going to be bloody ugly.

Twitter is am ugly mess right now . Everything is becoming divided. Be careful out there.

I don’t agree with, or support the violence, destruction and looting, but I can appreciate how angry these people are and the feeling of power they get in the mob.

It is certainly frightening.

- 1970vintage

I just think they are doing it wrong. Deal with the people that are causing the problem.

Racism is a funny thing . I find it amazing that white people get called out on it mostly.

I did a call at this Asian ladies house and we were talking of swimming . I told her I drive every Sunday get the grandkids and we go to Newton Wave pool. She said she didn't like it there because there were too many East Indians. She said they smelled.

My wife's Daughter was dating and East Indian before her current marriage and his parents would not accept her seeing she was not East Indian.

A lot of times the people screaming foul are just as guilty.

We have a Pit Barrel Smoker, a Bradley Smoker and we now have a Camp Chef Grille in our outdoor BBQ area. It's a counter area where the BBQ was inlaid into the counter, we removed it and replaced it with the grille. All angles covered.

I thought you did?

That wasn't a poop poo, it was a wow, my opinion was that organized hooligans are responsible for the violence, looting, anarchy. Same as the Wet'suwet'en protests.

I didn't think Canadians would be so (frank)ing stupid to partake in violent, looting disobedience. Seems I was wrong to think that way.

I have no sympathy or support for that type of behavior, peaceful protests yes, I support that as a process to be heard and make politicians take notice.

Question, do you think the police have the right to push back against the unruly protesters, not the peaceful protests, the looters, the people lighting cars, buildings on fire?

It’s because historically, it has been white people oppressing other races.

A lot of these other issues are also religion based. Sikhs and Muslims, Catholics and everyone else etc etc.

Soon enough there will only be one race (we’ll all be mauve) and no religion, problem solved.

A speeding ticket isn’t a criminal act and yet the police receive a significant portion of their revenue from traffic stops.

Though I agree, emergency personnel are probably under funded, under paid and lack necessary training in some cases.

- 1970vintage

What are you talking about? That’s civil law and falls under “law enforcement”.

You’re confusing two completely different situations (one is a mental health issue and the other is racism) and just projecting it as systemic policing tyranny.

You should take the time to look at the solutions proposed by our health authority. It will be educational.

Yes, police should have the power to detain those people who need detaining. But a lot of the video I’ve seen has shown police engaging peaceful people, walking away from the situation with violent actions. Perhaps we’re not seeing the whole picture. Perhaps that individual had previously been engaged in unlawful behavior, but let me ask you, do you support an officer beating an assailant who is not currently engaging in a crime or resisting arrest?

Look, you brought in criminal behavior as the keystone reason for police involvement. All I did is point out that the police are charged with more than that. Maybe that’s not how it should be, but that’s how it is currently. I’m all for solutions, I hope that governments take a long look at how to best meet the needs of people in society.

Videos sometimes show part of the story. The one I posted last night shows the uncut version of the cop car driving through the crowd . Then Hillbilly Deluxe pointed out what about the protester throwing the Molotov Cocktail at the cop car?

Bullpoop. Blacks were selling other blacks into slavery well before Jews/ whites were involved. Arabs still have slaves today and were slavers of blacks and whites historically. Jews financed the ships, markets and owned slaves at higher percentages in USA than anyone. Whites are just an easy target. Muslim killed so many Hindus they named a mountain range after the slaughter, the Hindu kush, which means the slaughter of Hindus...

I agree. Having protested in every other conceivable way for so long, being shot down each time, having people murdered again and again... rage just comes out, and I can understand how things burn.

However, the looting going on in random cities (and Canada?) are really just poopty people capitalizing on some chaos.

Is running down a crowd with your car an appropriate reaction? I don’t think this is justified behavior.

Next time someone throws a Molotov Cocktail at my car I can almost assure you I am putting my pedal to the medal to get the fuk out of there. You are more than welcome to stay and have your car torched if you please.

I'm not writing anything that you or anyone of your political persuasion would regard as racist. If other people are going make racial assertions they should have facts back them up. I don't believe what 1970s wrote and I'm pointing out what anyone who spends a few minutes could research for themselves.

Not sure why pinning every social malady on whites is acceptable.
