It's just civil unrest, civil war

It's happened before in the USA, in Europe, in Eastern Europe, in the Middle East, in China, in the Philippines.

I was in Barcelona last fall when the Catalan people were protesting for independence from Spain. There was looting and violence, though nothing to compare with what we’re seeing in the US currently.

Well we all don't live in gated communities . In your life you go out and buy a new truck during a pandemic .

In my world I get requests every day to send money to the Philippines so they can buy a bag of rice to feed their family for the next two weeks.

Trust me I know about world problems.

I'd rather talk about sports than all the civil unrest that's going on in the USA right now, or the Kosovo Conflict where the Albanians opposed the ethnic Serbs, or the independence sought by the Catalan's, or the African Apartheid, or any other injustices around the world.

I seen a video from yesterday of a cop wresting a guy to the ground , putting a weapon in his hand and making it look like he was trying to attack the cop asthe cop then beat him up.

The cop had a Mohawk hair cut so can easily be identified. He should be arrested and sent to prison .

I'm wondering why police violence isnt the main issue rather than just white on black. Cops abuse poor people of every color but wont address the issue until the media fuels a racial issue.

As I child, I watched a police officer kick my mother in the guts after she was handcuffed and body slammed on the ground. He was your typical huge Toronto cop in the 80's. She was pissing blood in the back of the cop car so instead of taking her to the drunk tank, she was taken to the hospital. This was just a disturbing the peace call as she was drunk and yelling at the landlord. No violence happened.

The other 5 cops who witnessed this backed up the abusers story that she fell. The doctors and nurses suggested my mother try and lay charges. They clearly could see the boot print in her abdomen. Pics were taken at the hospital.

The police said her and my statement were no good because I would say what ever she told me to. They said that the doctors and nurses statement was no good because their evidence and professional opinion that it was a kick and not from falling down was inconclusive. The pic of the boot print could have been anything they said so the Toronto police department didnt even investigate this. She spent 4 days in the hospital before being released to go home. No charges by the police were laid for her disturbance.

When I was a child, one of the places we lived had my window looking down an alley. It was a favourite spot for the cops to take drunks in the neighborhood and kick the living poop out of them. One time, it was my best friends father. He was harmless. Drove a street sweeper for the city. Every day after work he'd get drunk at the Duke of Cannaught. He would stagger home by 9, leaning on poles and sitting in doorways sometimes passing out for a bit. Bothered no one. Made it to work on time. Single father. The cops beat him so bad one night because he pissed himself in their car that he missed a month of work. They were poor as poop and this made things pretty bad for my friend who developed a hatred for police that I'm sure would end up as trouble one day. We were only 10 at this time. This stuff shapes how poor kids see the police for the rest of their lives.

Police brutality only gets the spotlight when it's white on minority. Until the whole problem is addressed, the race problem will continue. Most of these white on black cases are most likely by wiener cops who abuse everyone but no one cares until he is caught abusing someone of color. I grew up dealing with these kinds of pigs. They see a black kid, it's "Ni**er" this and that as they verbally abuse him. They see a white kid and it's "little fa**ot". They deal with a woman and it's "whore". They are simply abusers and the insulting narrative changes depending on who they are dealing with.

For you everything is fine, outside of the pandemic what's going on in another country, the United States of America, doesn't affect you. You're simply a bystander watching, reading and commenting.

40% of the 195 countries in the world will witness civil unrest in 2020, you probably have no idea what 99% of them are over, but you keep blabbing on about how the world as we know it is going to end because of racism in the United States.

Once again clueless.

My rioting predictions had nothing to do with Racism pal. It has to do with unemployment and shortage of food and supplies. These mass gatherings of destruction will only add to the problem of unemployment and shortage.

Don't try to speak for me ,Jackass

You should read this and educate yourself on the unrest in the world.

The new blog is up — and yes, it's all about how the Canucks and other NHL players are taking steps they've never taken before to speak out against racism.

Yeah, I look down on Police for the most part. I know there are some good people in all police forces but typically, even the police we call "good apples" for the most part will lie their face off to protect a bad apple's crime. That makes them no better than criminals covering for their friend who just nearly kicked someone to death on the streets. It's also a horrible crime and they risk jail... but not in the police department. We call these cops "good apples" but they are also abusers and will lie to a judge without a second thought.

wanker.

It would be easier to talk about sports if you stopped talking about all the things you don’t want to talk about...

I was just adding some global context, that yes, you are correct, lots of people around the world protest different things, and sometimes those protests get ugly.

Hasn’t that been obvious for years?

Also, sorry to hear this Booner, but it doesn’t surprise me. I know that I would be a terrible police officer, because my actions are too easily led by my emotions, which is a terrible trait for a peace officer.

Too many become police officers for the wrong reasons.

Just saw this

Are you experienced?

Quinn Hughes, 20: 0 playoff games

Elias Pettersson, 21: 0 playoff games

Brock Boeser, 23: 0 playoff games

Adam Gaudette, 23: 0 playoff games

Jake Virtanen, 23: 0 playoff games

Thatcher Demko, 24: 0 playoff games

Bo Horvat, 25: 6 playoff games

Tyler Motte, 25: 0 playoff games

Troy Stecher, 26: 0 playoff games

Josh Leivo, 27: 0 playoff games

Jacob Markstrom, 30: 0 playoff games

Even though the play-in round is not playoffs, it is a playoff-like situation. Even if they lose, it is valuable experience.

You're fear mongering, things will be fine by this time next year. There were thousands of business's that disappeared during the 2008 recession, things will come back, including sports.
