During these times there is going to have to be some give and take. I would think that any league that reduces it's schedule, would expect players to reduce salary accordingly.
In the case of MLB, they want to reduce schedule to 37%, so they would expect players to collect only 37% of what they signed for.

Sports better be careful or they will be out of work. I seen the Whitecaps had an optional practice yesterday and no one or little attendance of the players.

With no fans coming to games owners might just say go screw yourselves.

I think if Hockey doesn't get this return to play you wont see a season next year.

These are obviously uncharted territories, maybe the league needs a reset and some weaker teams to fold, because that's what'll happen if they're out for an extended period of time.

There are going to be a lot of uncharted territories for a lot of things. You look at Marwood's business never returned and a lot others.

You have people rioting destroying businesses and idiots yelling fuk the police. Once their business gets looted they too are out of work. When the food stores get looted then you are out of food. Be careful what you wish for.

If I am a big business owner and I get people saying I don't want to come back to work or my store /property had been destroyed , I would say I am set for life , fuk you too.

It is the tax payers that are going to have to pay for this. I am retired now so have fun.

It's not like there hasn't been unrest in the world before, it'll take awhile but things will become normal, a new normal, but still normal. Which may take two years, it may take five years, but the unrest won't be forever.

Sports are a staple in life, people crave an outlet so there'll always be a place for them as there has been throughout history.

So no sports for 5 years .

I seen Target , Guitar stores , shoe stores ,Jewelry stores . TV stores Clothing stores all looted and ransacked and it is just the beginning. All of these additional people out of work now after coming off a three month lock down.

You're fear mongering, things will be fine by this time next year. There were thousands of business's that disappeared during the 2008 recession, things will come back, including sports.

Fear mongering?

All of this never happened sorry my mistake. BTW I did predict the rioting and looting three months before it happened.

You’re acting as if none of this has ever happened before, which is of course not true.

30 years ago during the Rodney King riots. Interesting, that was race related too. Greatest country on the planet!

The difference in the past recessions and riots is there was no social media reporting every single time the police used force to defuse the riot. The rioters back then did not have gas masks and weapons.

Marwood said there will be a civil war , is he fear mongering also? Makita said there was going to be riots by professional rioters . is he fear mongering also.

The News reported last night there are organized gangs that operate a very lucrative business by rioting and looting. Turn on your TV.

It's just civil unrest, civil war

It's happened before in the USA, in Europe, in Eastern Europe, in the Middle East, in China, in the Philippines.

They should've just shut it down completely a few months ago, now it's even more clear that that's the right choice, but they'll try and save the league and all it's teams.
