Capfriendly has them at 48, including Hoberg and Wylie.

48? That is good. Not great but good at this time. Like stated earlier, they will trim some fat after the season. Hoping they get some good contracts extended with a couple guys. I liked Grant so far this year. Seemed to fit in nicely. That redirection assist off his skate in front of the goal showed some skill and grit. Solid on the dot also.

Not necessarily. They could always make a trade if need be (i.e. Chris Stewart and a 5th for a 6th). Hell, they COULD trade anyone right now, even Coots or Giroux. The TDL is all about playoff eligibility.

Thought the trade deadline is still passed. Thought no more trades for those in the top 16 for sure at this point. Maybe I’m wrong.

Hey Bill,

If there was a 2016 re-draft, does Högberg get selected much sooner than the 6th round?

You can make a trade at any point. The TDL is the last day that players can be added to playoff rosters.

I'm 99% sure on this.

I thought Matt Read signed a 3 year ELC as a 24/25 year old. Was that just a coincidence that they chose 3 years?

I believe it was just coincidence.

I think that CapFriendly isn't updating the reserve list contracts count including Hogberg and others because his contract does not apply until the start of whenever the next season is.

Matt Read signed a UFA deal, not a EL deal.

Yeah, you need to sign him on a small bridge plan on the cheap. He will have to take it and then prove that he can play to get a bigger deal. No way the Flyers want to cut him loose just yet. Too much potential. That kid can play. Man would he make a high end #3C and later develop into a high end #2C

They are not going to let that just walk without a fight. They will be betting on his recovery.

They don't even need to do that. All they have to do is make him a qualifying offer.

He probably gets picked in the 5th round which is where he was drafted.
