CNN pushes just as many stupid views, just depends what their agenda is that day (or 3 years of a Russiagate conspiracy theory without a shred of actual evidence). One network saying something stupid doesn't absolve the other network of wrong doing. Just like NBC ran stories about a woman taking fish tank cleaner and blaming Trump even though she was a Democrat and really just used the stuff to kill her husband.

Plenty of the lefty outlets said "don't wear masks" at the beginning for fear people would take them away from front line workers. Now they're changing their tune even though the masks most people are wearing don't really do much to stop it because it can still get in through your eyes (that's coming from the WHO and CDC employees). It's just another thing people use to bullpoop themselves into feeling safer than they really are. Like airport security. They changed their tune from January when the WHO said Corona couldn't spread from person to person. Oops.

FOX news is facing lawsuits for calling COVID 19 a hoax. they even had to fire an on-air personality for it. They are also pushing a drug that can cause deaths. They are also making-fun of people wearing masks.

Chomsky is right that they are both tied to a corporate worldview and are similar to that extent. But no, they’re not mouthpieces of political parties in the same way at all. Fox has an absolutely explicit political agenda of promoting the Republican Party and Trump. Trump regularly parrots Fox talking points and seeks advice from their anchors. Hannity even appeared on stage with him at a campaign rally.

CNN is more left (by American standards) and is certainly critical of Trump. To be honest it’s hard to imagine how you could not be critical of Trump and they do have Trump surrogates on as part of their political panels. They were also critical of Obama.

So no, not the same.
