Winning doesn't go to Buffalo. He should've done his homework after Edmonton won the lottery.
- GreatGigInTheSky

Eichel should have demanded a trade before the draft. Like during the draft lottery, maybe?

Well he scored 39 his first year.
- bobbyisno1

Auston Matthews has the most 5v5 goals of any player, regardless of position, since he came into the league.

So yes, he's the most dominant goalscoring C in the NHL in the past few decades.

So then it's Ovechkin?
- PatC80

Is he a centre?

Goal scoring C I think he was talking about.

Ovechkin is a winger

Yup I’m good with this statement... does stamkos play C? I don’t think full time anyways.

Still a far stretch, if he keeps it up for a few more years then yes, but he ain't been doing it that long as of yet. Don't get me wrong I think he is one of the best players in the league, but less than four seasons doesn't get you the best goal scorer award.

Well yeah, he said centre. So I can't argue the winger part.

I'd kill to be able to sit in on the meetings that spawned that commercial

Just like I'd love to sit in on the meeting where they compare Mazda's design innovation to Jackie Robinson

Bettman would've walked down to Eichel's seat and dragged him to the stage.

Jesus, Martin Luther King had it all wrong.

I honestly don't even know anymore if it was bad.

People talked about it endlessly for a month.

FFS, Donald Trump is the president.

Is there such a thing as bad publicity in this day and age?

Those riot cops did look friendly with their ball caps and handsome smiles.
That could totally work.
I mean its Pepsi after all....not like its coke....that would have been a sign of aggression.

Sure it does.

If you can name a more dominant goalscoring C over the past 20-30 years, I'm all ears.

He's only been in the league for 4(ish) years, but he's literally lead said league in 5v5 scoring the entirety of his career. That is (frank)ing unbelievable for a kid to do, let alone playing C.

I'm not saying he's the best C in the league (McJesus, Crosby, Mackinnon), but he's on another level in terms of pure goalscoring.

I don't see how this is even debatable unless you think, in the next few years, his production inexplicably falls off a cliff, he has a career ending/debilitating injury, the Pandemic destroys hockey forever, or he is sentenced to 10-20 years for a 1st Degree Dropping Your Drawers offence.

We're obviously living in a simulation so I wouldn't discount the last possibility.

I'd like to see him try. Don't you remember Garf's blog about ECHL's traps, lats, and whatnot? ECHL would wreck that meatball.
