It will be real in that the Cup does exist and a team would win it.

Assuming there are 2 workable rinks, Lake Placid would be a cool site for the East. For the West, Vancouver makes sense.

Would be neat to have a separate location for the SCF. If the Olympic rinks are still in place, Salt Lake City could be one option.

That's a great idea. Lake Placid is actually a very small arena. Intimate but with multiple camera angles. Plus, many hotels for teams to stay in a place with zero WuFlu infections. Add in the history and atmosphere and it;s a home run. Great thinking, BiggE.

Last I checked Lake Placid is in N.Y.. Don't think the NHL is getting anywhere near that state with the highest infection rates and highest death rates.
The owners have also said no games in practice rinks. Pretty sure they are going to only use NHL cities and arenas. There will be monies spent in the hub cities.
I doubt they will spend it in none NHL cities.

Lake placid is close to 300 miles from NYC. that’s a 5 hour drive sans traffic. It’s in the middle of nowhere. If you’ve been there, you’d see how isolated it is.

I’m not saying it’s the place to be, but I am saying that trying to pin NCY’s rates of infection on Lake Placid isn’t fair.

I'm well aware how remote most of NY is. Not trying to pin anything on Lake Placid.
Was just pointing out that it is NOT a good idea to have a hub city any place in NY and that the NHL has not mentioned NY as an option and that there is ZERO chance that the NHL will consider a hub city that is not an NHL city.
