Assuming there are 2 workable rinks, Lake Placid would be a cool site for the East. For the West, Vancouver makes sense.
Would be neat to have a separate location for the SCF. If the Olympic rinks are still in place, Salt Lake City could be one option. |

aren't the top seeded teams playing their games as the other teams are playing their best of 5 series? - Ftown19125

Really though, nobody is concerned about the possible outcome of the bye week. Pitt catches fire. Beats the Habs. We go in cold and they beat us. (frank) that! - SuperSchennBros
Won't the top 4 in each conference be playing one another at that time to determine 1 thru 4 seeding?

We’re gonna get home ice advantage and play in Pittsburgh because Flyers.
Honestly tho, how funny would it be if the Flyers went on a cup run playing in Pittsburgh? |

Off topic but this is a very good read. I had no idea this was going on. Many didn't as we as fans enjoyed his time in Philly. I remember being very critical when I heard what happened. After reading this, I wish I hadn't. I wish he had gotten more help.

There’s gonna be a witch-hunt to find out who that Phillies player who hooked him up with a pill dealer was. Just looking at that years roster I have a suspicion.
Never knew the extent of the pain he was playing through. Sad. |

Didn’t think of it before. Buffalo would be a great place. Haven’t had people I. The stands for years. Hahaha.

Why? If they still win 4 ..7 games series....they deserve it, with no questions or asterisks.

What would your thoughts be on having the eastern teams play in the West, and vice versa - Hesh_
Not sure it would make any difference but if possible I would have the teams play at a neutral location(ie cities where teams did not make the playoffs). Obviously they need to play wherever the league deems safest tho. |

No asterisk. Everyone is on the same playing field. Asterisk’s are only used when that isn’t the case. Think Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, and Tom “Gwyneth Paltrow” Brady. |

Agreed. Or, yknow, a certain pretty recent baseball franchise.
It’s a tournament all the same. Frankly, I’m excited for it.
There won’t be an asterisk on the Cup, and that’s all that matters.
Even if a divisional rival wins it - NO asterisk. |

Agreed. Everyone is in the same boat. Does anyone hold a grudge against the team that won the cup during the shortened lock out season? I don’t think so. |

REALLY sad read. Made me think of Richards. Hope he is ok.
It's a tough situation. I played full contact til I was 41. Quit because I broke my leg. Have replaced my hip. At the peak of my "pain management" for 3 years I was on 120 mg of morphine sulfate and 20 mg of Percocet a day. Got off in 2013. Tried cold turkey. Wound up using the percs to take the edge off. Wound them from 2 a day to none in 2 weeks. I now use 200 of celebrex a day. I'm 65 and can hardy walk, constant pain but I can think.
REALLY miss hockey. It literally is the high lite of my life.
It just shows that we all have our weaknesses, even one of the greatest pitchers of our lifetimes. |

The size of the asterisk will wholly depend on how effective the lock down measures are. If everything goes perfectly, then there's very little reason to doubt the legitimacy of the winner. But if players/teams end up getting quarantined along the way... it would be a pretty big *. |

That's the biggest thing. If they're going to do this, they need to ensure the integrity of the competition. Comparing to hockey related injuries and the attrition of the playoffs won't wash.

Well yeah, but let’s cross this bridge when we get there. People are already calling these playoffs a sham and they haven’t even started practicing yet. Hopefully this plan works and no one gets sick. |
