Does this mean some teams won't start playing right away, waiting for "mini-series" of lower-tier teams to be played out? - Pat1993
no. all 24 teams will be playing. top 4 teams in each conference play a round robin for seeding. in reality, just gives them some games to play so they are facing a team in the first round that has some game experience while they have none. |

that is for the 1st round.
meanwhile the top 4 teams who get a by (BOS, TB, WASH, PHI) will play a round robin.
still not done, long way to go before players agree to eveything. - fidopro
do you think they would have made an announcement if the NHLPA hadn't agreed to it?

do you think they would have made an announcement if the NHLPA hadn't agreed to it? - Gramps28
players only agreed to the format, the 24 teams.
they have not approved the hub cities, the testing, the lockdown away from their family, the travels, the money (btw they did ask to see the books)...
how much do they lose if the league doesn't resume? and how much do they lose if they do resume? is it worth it? with all the additonal costs...
and you can bet all players will want to vote. not just the 31 team rep
I'm not saying players won't vote in favor, just saying they haven't voted yet |

If all of it comes to fruition they better not bother us with their stupid lock-outs ever again. |

Or they will beat then Pens, and Pittsburgh will win the lottery
After all, they are due for their regular generational player, Crosby is getting kinda old |

I was hoping for governments to infuse a bit of common sense into it but it seems professional athletes have been named essential workers in the states now. |

well people complain there are no sports on in lockdown. When they make available people complain about special treatment. Not saying you, but i've seen a lot of that. |

Borders are closed right now. At this rate, I wouldn't open the Canada-US border this summer. Should be the same for European travellers. |
