Saying he's going to certainly use the pick as one way or the other is not doing his job correctly.

Even when the Oilers were lined up for McDavid, they still needed to hear the offers being presented to them. I can guarantee they were gargantuan. Doesn't mean he needed or even wanted to accept let alone entertain the offers.

Unless the pick is top 2, you can likely make a case for listening to offers. I mean, what if Svechnikov is being offered for 2 or 3? Or someone with that skill and age? As unlikely as it is, we don't know what the offers are. At some point, the offer needs to be high enough to say, ok, we've sucked ass for 10 years, let's get an amazing, young player for a guy who may, MAY, have an overall better career, even slightly, for a guy who's ready to make this team way better right now.

Obviously it's premature until we know the draft order. But as you say, the prospect that a big offer will come in for the 7th OA that is a slam dunk, is not very likely. That's why you say you'll listen to offers but have every intention of selecting. If he's shopping that pick looking around, he's gonna get taken to the cleaners. We can't be taken to the cleaners again here...

Apparently said Risto was a core player too.

If that’s the case then he better be moving Montour.

I doubt it. He said he likes their defense and their goaltending

I would definitely say don't shop it, even privately. But certainly listen.

And that's completely fair. I'll let Carolina send us Svech if they want to as well. If Botts trades 7OA for a stop gap 2C, I'll have pitchfork in hand quickly.

The overall vibe I got was that he really, really, really likes tage, Mittelstadt and cozens. He said he likes his puck moving defensemen and his goalies.

Expect the 3 kids here next year and maybe a small trade or FA add to the forwards

I heard tage's name like 3-4 times. So yeah, I think the change we're going to get is 100% more tage

Of course. The value of that top 10 pick as it currently stands is a young RFA center no questions asked.

Lance Lysowski chatted with Tage. I guess he's put on 20 lbs since last offseason.

Is there any middle ground where there are good cops and bad cops?

I mean yesterday a police officer in Tonawanda was shot multiple times. Sounds like the guy was a genuine hero (he's been a big part of many high profile cases). He was investigating a murder and the shooter came back to try and kill him. 5 shots fired, hit 3 times and 2 stopped by the vest.

What the other officer did was murder as far as I'm concerned. But we're not helping ourselves by lumping all cops in together and saying they're "dirty". Most aren't and that's just a fact.

I appreciate your post:

Detective Dave is a good friend of mine. He gives all law enforcement a great name. Dave's a kind family man and an outstanding hero. He was Shot 7 times.

Our Prayers with Dave. #superhero

I have nothing left but cautiously hopeful optimism. I want so bad for Tage to be a complimentary scoring threat. I think he can be with his improved strength and speed.

How do we make it stop? Do we need to make a sacrifice? Burn a Botterill effigy?

I don't want to play this game anymore.

I know you have. I was just hoping he would finally realize that he’s a below average d-man by now.

Well

For all intents and purposes, the sabres off season doesn't even really start til September. So we won't be seeing them til some time between Thanksgiving and New Year's day. That might be a good thing
