So when antibody testing can debunk the herd immunity that Sweden is trying to achieve its reliable to use ....but if it is used in the states or Canada to show how many people actually have Covid thus lowering the actual death rate its far too unreliable

If just 1 in 14 Swedes have shown to have coronavirus that means 716,000 Swedes have shown to have it...with only just under 4000 dying of Covid/dying with Covid ...or 0.5% ...

This report says only 1/14 ....making it seem like the virus did not spread through and decimate the population as was feared ...

Keep in mind Sweden has already stated it let down its care homes at the beginning ...with proper isolation and care of the truly at risk the death toll would have been even lower

I think the article was a decent read except for the last line. This is a pandemic .You can't fault people for being cautious and worried.

The numbers were fantastic for round one because of the great job everyone did. Round two is about to happen pretty soon and we will find out a lot more.

We will find out if our immunity will build up by socializing or we are going to be kicked in the nuts by stupidity. We have to let it play out before we can come to a conclusion .

1) I've always been vocal about herd immunity and hows it not achievable without a vaccine, sweden choosing to have loose restrictions without one is proving that. And you are a prime example of what vantel was talking about earlier, low mortality rates among confirmed cases in a population doesnt mean it shouldnt be taken seriously. If you want to talk Sweden's numbers, its 34k confirmed, 4k deaths, and 5k recovered. There is a massive number of confirmed that havent gone to either category yet. Im sad we have to refer to what I believe is a nations mistake for us to gain data on an unproven theory. I never wanted them to test this in the start.

2) when have i said that using antibody testing in the states/canada would be useless. Also, antibody testing and covid19 screening (to see who has had it and studying the antibodies vs who currently has it are two very different things). I have praised north Americas antibody testing in reference to trying to successfully create a vaccine and gain further understanding about a virus that has so many unknowns, I'm not sure what you talking about.

3) sweden has almost twice the population as BC. Let's say you double BC's numbers in reference to Sweden's just to gain some perspective (population density aside) and you tell me if their way of handling this vs how BC did and tell me that 4k deaths were worth it.

BC, 5 million population, 2500 confirmed, 2000 recovered, 157 deaths

Sweden, 10 million population, 33k confirmed, 5000 recovered, 4 thousand deaths.

Also, earlier this week Sweden had the highest coronavirus deaths in the world per capita (not since the pandemic started). So there's also that.

Lol what's funny is that I didn't even post the article in the first place but yet it ironically fits my "narrative" with stats and facts.

What isnt funny, is that 4 thousand swedes lost their lives when that number should be drastically lower. Its unbelievably sad.

And honestly, I dont have a narrative. I want people to be healthy, to live, to be get sick and to not have community spread. That's my narrative I guess

She shares letters she receives from families who have been impacted by this pandemic. Here is one that got my attention from a family member who has lost a loved one to COVID-19 and how Abbotsford Regional Hospital supported the family in saying good bye:

We had been told that he would not make it through the day. By being given the opportunity to Zoom my dad's children, wife and grandchildren, from various parts of the world, were able to talk to him, play his favourite songs and read the poetry he wrote to us. The most challenging part was not being able to hold his hand to say goodbye physically. The nurses and social worker were warriors and did that for us. The nurses and social worker who held his hand while we repeatedly told him we loved him are the angels of our last few hours with him. They helped us to say good-bye in the most dignified and closest way we possibly could during this pandemic. We would like to thank them, to let them know they are heroes to us. Thank you for being there in the final moments of my dad's life.

We analyze the articles, we list the stats, but when you read the stories of people who are directly affected by this pandemic it hits home IMO.

It doesnt matter what you believe. If you think it's a hoax, a conspiracy, an overblown flu, it doesnt matter. Listen to the health authority, respect people's space and social distancing, and dont do it for yourself, do it for other people.
