Yes, but what’s the point of limiting practice and not games? These guys will be exposed to physical contact, why shelter their practice? I don’t think they can be productive in six man units without coaches to get to the level we expect.

From a business point of view, I get it, from a moral point of view, it makes little sense.

Practice is the perfect way to test that their initiatives will be effective. If they players and coaches can get through a two week training/exhibition schedule with no cases then they can be confident in playing games.

Again I am not taking sides but ask yourself this. Does it make sense to lock Bo Horvat out of hockey as he catches the virus eating at the Keg?

If you shut down hockey then shut everything down.

Well... The Keg IS kinda scuzzy, after all, it's near the Roxy and you KNOW the kind of people that come out of THAT place.

Nasal swab before the start of phase 2 and all players must get swabbed a minimum of twice a week.

Results from each test have a 24 hour turnaround.

Players to do self temperature checks daily and report

I wonder how long the restrictions will last ? Looking at photos of parks in ONT and pools in the USA yesterday I think restrictions will be short lived.

If people keep pulling that kind of stuff, I imagine the restrictions will be around longer.

Also, just reported. Ontario just had its 5th day in a row of 400+ new cases

There was an article about our international borders being closed until the new year, or at least that's what I read about my cousins business being shutdown on a Chek 6 article yesterday.

The restrictions may be around longer but will people follow them . I seen photos of armed masked men showing at Michigan state buildings saying screw the restrictions already.

Groups in Vancouver were not giving ambulances access to ERs

Interesting, I hadnt heard anything on international borders.

Selfishly, I would love borders closed, provincially as well. Alberta is not doing super well, and BC is doing incredibly well. I'm hoping Albertan's dont come over to camp this summer.

The death rate of people that have died under the age of 50 still sits at 22 for two months of infection.

This is a question now. Is it better for that many people to get infected and then hopefully immune ? I am not talking people over the age of 50 . Is it not better that people under the age of 50 become exposed? Like a chicken pox party in Europe. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

What you are essentially saying is what sweden tried to do (but with stricter guidelines for the higher risk like elderly and immunocompromised). Personally, no I dont think it would work without a proven vaccine, but that's just me.

I think the better question would be, does getting COVID-19 actually make you immune to reinfection, is it worth the risk that it doesn't?

Not to mention that plenty of folks who aren't seniors are getting some sort of secondary disease that stems from their COVID-19 infection. That's also something that needs to be studied as well.

There has been cases of re-infection due to strain mutation as well. Like you said, the virus is too new to understand the long term effects of the illness. Just another reason why this damn virus is so scary

I wonder if breaking down different groups is a better solution. I am in the group 65 and over so I would have to treat my lifestyle smarter than a 30 year old. I do social distance and I do wear a mask. I also wash my hands 10 times more a day than I use to.

As a senior I probably have 10 good years before my body really breaks down if I am lucky. I don't want to spend three of them living in bubble wrap. I like to be able to walk in to a store and see a toilet papers and steak on the shelves. I want to turn on the TV and not have to watch hockey from 10 years ago.

I think if the people under 50 are mostly surviving and keeping the world running then I can live with the risk. I thank everyone for their concern about us older people but we have had our run already.

I hope the world gets smarter and cleans up the planet with different things and find new ways to do things.
