Maybe it's because they had to pause the building of their new yacht (without considering that it may have been deemed nonessential.) - adambuffalo
Could care less about there Yacht, they gave Beane the money to make my favorite team better. And when the off-season starts, I still believe who ever is the GM of the Sabres will have what he needs to make them better. Have they made stupid decisions, from what I have read yes, but so far they have never said no to signing a player. |

What about Tarasenko, St. Louis seems to be rolling without him, what would it take to get him. |

There's a difference in being liquid and making payroll.
Edit: I have no idea their financial situation, but it's an awful look to put "lifestyle" into a business meeting. - Wetbandit1
On one hand, I get why people are upset, but on the other hand, at least they are up front about their goals. Every employee and every tentative new hire now knows that is one of the goals of the people at the top. They can now make their own informed decision as to whether they still want to work for them or not.
I'd much rather that, than someone making cost cutting decisions and not being transparent as to why they are doing it. |

I would think any conversation would start with this year's first.
2020 1st, 2021 2nd, Mittelstadt, and some of Cuomo's excess testing capacity for Taresenko and a 2020 4th. |

He would make us better, but would people be willing to give up that first, or could they make it top 3 lottery protected. But still would have to find that C to play with them, wonder if Haula would work there. |

I'm not saying I would necessarily do it, but St. Louis isn't in a position where they have to unload him. It would take a haul to get him. |

Interesting little find there 39, but 19 is right probably take a haul to get him. And I believe he has a NTC is his contract. |

You are correct, as he has a No Trade Clause that kicked in last offseason. - kingcong39
Looks like they are up against the cap and would have to make moves to get his 7.5 mill contract to fit once they took him off LTIR. |

Wonder if there's anyone else worthwhile we could take of there hands to try and help them with that cap situation. |

There was rumor-speculation that we were sniffing around Tarasenko during the TDL. Also other national media the Blues might be willing to trade him in the right scenario. A little smoke then, a little more now. Not necessarily or probably to Buffalo, but a trade none the less. |

He would definitely help, be interesting to see him and Skinner flying down the ice. If he would waive to come here. |

If they had a line of Skinner - Strome - Tarasenko, it would be almost 100% offense and very little defense.
The benefit of Tarasenko's actual salary is that while it is $9.5M for the 21-22 season, it is only $5.5M in actual salary for the 20-21 and 22-23 seasons, even though his cap hit is $7.5M per. |

I know Buffalo is desperate for offense, but I would not spend big assets in acquiring Tarasenko. |

Logistically the value he could provide vs the value of the outgoing assets + cap hit + injury history might make it quite the challenge to win that trade. |

Well it's something you would have to think about, would have to have a strong D pair out there. But would make it interesting, not many teams could roll out 2 lines to take care of Jack's line and that 2nd line |

I wouldn't make that deal either. I just think that's what it would take. Like I said, St. Louis doesn't have to move him. |
