If he's actually taking it, his doctors will have decided that his exposure the virus was severe and the dangers off the drug are not as significant as the dangers posed to him of actually contracting the disease given his underlying conditions. This is without there being any evidence that it works. There are studies now under way as to the possibility that it might help people who have been exposed the virus but haven't yet developed symptoms. There are no results yet from those studies. If his doctors actually prescribed this drug, they are clearly very worried.

The other very real possibility of course is that he is full of poop and that he's not taking the drug or that his staff gave him Flinstone gummy bears just to shut him up.

I was in three of the hardest hit hospitals in NY from the onset of this. I’m currently working within two clinical trials right now. Nobody understands the motivating factors in any of this. Incredible how a group that calls half the population stupid has not a (frank)ing idea how any of this works.

Be sure to tell the FDA then because none of the clinical reviews have shown that the benefits outweigh the risks. I know there are trial on it’s preventative use but without results. From what I’ve heard if his doctors are giving it to him it’s because they are worried about the extent of his exposure.
