24 team playoff and Buffalo is 25

Ain't that always the way.

- sabresfan69

Worst odds of the non playoff teams and last team not included. Another feather in the cap guru's chapeau

Understand, but with 39 numbers and what he came up with it looks like we have been poopting all over McCabe when if fact he was one of the better defensive defenseman in the league. Would keeping Scandella been a good move.
Miller-McCabe
Joker-Scandella
Trade-Dahlin
Have been a better D setup to have gone forward with.

So the Goalies for the Sabres knew more than the all than fans that hated on McCabe....
Shocker

Too many ppl flying off the handle with over exaggerated points & opinions

Typical, especially here

I actually have that as my top pair on my Armchair GM team on Capfriendly. Think they will make a good pair in time.
- Buff36

Could be sooner than later?

I think it was smart they way they’ve brought Dahlin along so far
I think it’s time to start giving him more:
icetime, responsibility, freedom to skate & create offensively

And if Jokiharju can be the “steady” partner he needs to flourish, then sweet

I’ve said all along i don’t think we need a stud next to Dahlin for him to succeed

Kinda sucks
Would’ve been nice to see a 3game series vs the Leafs
Especially since i think we’d have had a chance to beat them

But oh well
It’s not like we actually “deserved” a playoff spot
So I’m not too upset about it

Especially if you’re buying the long islands!

Stop being such a douche, that’s beady’s job
Nothing i said was offensive
It was a crack at how ridiculously homophobic he is

Was thinking what do you think it would take to get Hertl out of SJ. They are hurting for cap space, and hurting for young LHD.

That's not a bad idea, maybe Miller- Borgen as your 3rd pair. Still gotta find that partner for Dahlin
- Buff36

Pilut - Miller as the 3rd pair with Pilut being an LHD and Miller being an RHD?

Tough to say what their mindset is?
If they’re trying to win, they keep him
If they’re trying to re-build, he’s still young enough they could keep him

I don’t really know
But i can’t imagine he’d be cheap

They should really be trying to trade Couture, Vlasic, Burns & Karlsson
Keep salary to get as much back as possible
Total rebuild

Otherwise they’re just gonna be stuck in limbo like the Flames were the last handful of years with Iginla & Vancouver with the Sedins
Imagine what better shape the Canucks would be in if they could’ve figured out a way to trade the Twins...

San Jose has gotta year it all down before they get stuck for the next 5+ years, then another 5+ years to rebuild
They’re in a really tough spot

I’d like to see Borgen dominate the AHL,
and have some call up time here for a season,
before we plug him into a nightly role

I think we could’ve pulled off an upset vs the Leafs

Then Boston or Tampa would kick our butts...
but it would’ve been a fun week,
even if the stupid Leafs won

Oh well

I feel the same about him as i do Borgen in that I’m not even considering him for a full time role up here till i see him getting call ups & playing well...
AND
doing very well in Rochester

Did u get to watch Bryson much this year?
I only saw 2 Rochester games, so i barely saw him

Pilut seems ready to come up though
Even though he struggled at times up here,
he looked good at times too
Some struggles are expected for any young defenseman though

I watched him a bit, took him a bit, but he was playing pretty decent by the end, the kid can fly. Think the Sabres have some decent d prospects coming up through the system. I want to see Borgen and Bryson get some time.

Well if a defenseman gets traded,
that locks Pilut into the lineup I’d think

And that would make Bryson & Borgen the first callups
So we should get to see each of them a bit this coming season I’d think

Think Bryson has passed Borgen on the depth chart, brings more offensively, but Borgen is that old school defensive Dman that will take your head off skating down the side boards.

Bryson is also startling good defensively for somebody his size (i.e. not a big guy).

Of course he brings more offense,
that was never part of Borgen’s game

But can Bryson play defense?
Especially at the NHL level?

He definitely improved as the year went on, he uses his angles very well.

I think Bryson can he uses his skating to his advantage and is very good with his angles.

Sure, but it’s tough for a guy his size to play defense in the NHL

It’s not like he can skate like Makar or Hughes
And it’s not like he’s killing it offensively in the AHL

Maybe I’m wrong?
But i wonder if he’ll ever even be a regular in the NHL?

Ryan Ellis is almost the same size as Bryson.

I'm definitely not saying Bryson is going to turn out to be like Ellis, but his size should not be held against him.

Well don't think any of us can say yes or no, have to see it.
