Not Pelle Lindberg.

Forget about number 31 - the number you should remember is .24 - his blood alcohol level the night he died.

Yeah, sorry.

- Atomic Wedgie

Completely agree. Great player for a short period of time but doesn't deserve the honor because of a drunken car wreck that cost him his life.

If you go here, you've got to get Peter Stastny's number re-retired, as he was the first Soviet to defect, has over 400 goals, was a multi-time All Star, and won the Calder (although he was 25).

It was retired by the Nordiques, but when they moved to Colorado, they un-retired all numbers that were retired by the Nords.

Stastny is not a Soviet. He is from Czechoslovakia.

The Colorado Avalanche retire literally everyone’s number, which makes the exclusion of Alex Tanguay and Jean-Michael Liles all the more galling.

Mark Recchi was Elected to HHoF and has excellent Stats with the Flyers and played his Prime Seasons in O&B, much more than any of his other Teams... he fits the usual Requirements they have gone by of late -- Howe/Lindros -- But, since they haven't placed him in the Flyers HoF yet, it's not looking to good right now... Rex's number has not but should.

#6 Ken Morrow, Islanders. No question. Olympic Gold with Miracle on Ice and a Stanley Cup within 3 months. Give a nod to the defensive defensemen.

Alex Mogilny

First Russian to defect from Soviet Union

First non North American to lead the league in goals

First Russian named to an all star team

And first Russian captain

- [email protected]

And one of only 29 players in the Triple-gold club. (Worlds, Olympics, Stanley Cup)

And, my fave player of all time, which was actually true even before we adopted a boy from Russia who happened to be from the same city as Mogilny (Khabarovsk).

Where is he wrong. I don't see his mistake there, but I did not read the whole thing.

Maybe only 66.

Orr and Howe could be based on how great they were as players, but 4 and 9 are just too common. With 66, similar to 99, there is basically only Lemieux.

66 should be retired by the Flyers. A young David Poile ran around the Spectrum in 1966. It was immense and woke the franchise up. It gave the Flyers a No BS attitude paving the way to the Broad Street Bullies era in the 70s. You won't hear this publicly. 2 owners just texted me telling me to go F myself. I'm having a 32 team single elimination NCAA tournament on YouTube tonight. I made up a roster for the Seattle Kraken. The Leafs aren't screwing around. They could win the Cup, be eliminated or relocate to The Shire. The Leafs are not OK with this. Update: The Seattle Kraken just beat the Leafs to win the Cup. Jeremy Bracco wins the Conn Smythe trophy for Seattle.

Hey, we terrible Flyers fans gave him a standing ovation when he scored a goal against us in Philly after he flew there following a chemo treatment.

We sort of applauded after his second of the game, sort if a "Yes, we get it, you're amazing; please stop."

We also gave him a 5-minute ovation when he retired the first time in 1997.

I'm hearing Malkin will be starring in the the next X-Men movie. "X-Men Days of Future Tukka Rask. Geno will be playing "ManEato" and will have the ability to move things from Pittsburgh to Chicago. Tukka will be his Arch nemesis prone to epic anger meltdowns. Kind of like Ek after the Brendan Leipsic incident.

Update: Jack Eichel will also be in this movie as "SabreJorts."

What number was Franson. Best Corsi ever. Keller and Schmaltz will eventually be retired, but only after they hit 85-90 points on a regular basis.

That was Mario. Not the young David Poile running around the Spectrum in 1966.

I don't think he's talking about The Mule. He's referencing the great Cody Franson. Best defenseman in NHL history. According to Danny Tanner.
