Has any new information come out about the 7 teams who supposedly won't make the 24 team playoff, is there gonna be a lottery for those teams to be able to move up for the number 1 pick.

Anyone see the video of Allen throwing to Davis, Moss, Hodgins. Hope there aren't any consequences with it, but Allen throwing bullets.

As of yesterday Bettman was still planning on finishing the regular season. Don't know how the discussion got focused on this tournament idea.

I'm not really a drinker, probably haven't made 1 drunken post - ever.

My "rant" was a response to gerbes question.

I'd say jack, dahlin, skinner and olloffson.
So it's kinda a perfect world , for you anyways

Its seriously crazy how upset you get about a guy that you are willing to trade.

We have different opinions on sam, that's ok

I wouldn't have admitted this.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said the league intends to finish the remainder of the 2020 season, halted in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"I believe that if the right time comes, and the right circumstances, based on all of the options that we're considering and our ability to execute them, we'll get this season done," Bettman said,

"States are re-opening, cities are re-opening," Bettman said. "And if we do the right things, I think we'll be able to finish the season."

Well that is cool if they do, we will see if it actually happens, supposedly making a announcement in a week or so.

So how relevant do you feel? Does it depend on the number of shots?

Haven’t had one since Saturday.

I don’t drink at home so with the bars closed, I’m sober.

As per usual with the NHL.

They’ll be a day late and a dollar short.

I still find it hard to believe that the NBA made the decision to suspend the season mere moments after Rudy Gobert tested positive. There's no way you can convince me they hadn't decided days or even weeks before that they were going to halt things once a player tested positive.

I took finish the season more as meaning "award the Cup" , than "finishing regular season games/schedule."

Should have added this originally:

"The league is looking at plans to centralize groups of teams in low-risk centres, with games being held in empty arenas, in hopes of resuming the 2019-20 campaign this summer."

By saying "resuming" the campaign, it tells me that they want to finish the regular season especially if they're prepared to not start next season until Nov or Dec.

You would think the host would have asked a clarifying question.
I too went back and forth on if that meant finish the regular season.

Seems from other articles, they are giving consideration to expanded playoffs with 20 or 24 teams.
So I would think that adds another round of series which would add about 2 weeks ... therefore playoffs lasting 2-1/2 months rather than normal 2?
If they start play mid /end of July that takes them through end of Sept, possibly into Oct.
Then they need 4 - 6 weeks to recover...brings them into that Nov / Dec timeframe.

IDK.

I think everything posted on here is irrelevant, so if you want we can blow full load and say 100%. If Hockeybuzz crashed/closed humanity would not miss a beat.

There is nothing significant posted on here.

Now, the process, the enjoyment, if you will, might score some points for significance to offset some peoples' boredom, enhance happiness so that could be relevant if you want to go there but the material which we were discussing has no relevance. If someone wants to make a counter-argument I'd love to hear it.

Agree to disagree on 8.5. I think that would be for max term, something we shouldn't think to offer Sam at this point.

But I get you about balancing the lines. If you have 3 players making 26M for your top line, you will quickly find yourself looking like the Leafs with no depth scoring or ability to defend.

So I think you could get me to go along for spreading that money out between multiple players if the right trade presented itself. Would have to be decent return though as we'd be losing our best RWer by a mile for two lesser parts.

That being said, I think I was more talking about a swap. There just aren't many players you're going to get for 7M or less that will score 60+ points AND (the most important part) be on the trading block. Forsberg at 6M sounds great, but we don't have any way of acquiring that player is all I mean.

Thats what I've been saying is the sweet spot for both sides. Gets him an eberle-type contract at 30 and keeps the AAV down. 5x7 all day

I don't like any of those Montour options. None of them. I would go 3 years, $3.5 per. Completely unrealistic? Yes, of course.
