He's been backpedaling quite a bit. I haven't had an issue with his handling of this up until a couple of weeks ago. He's now stating that the rate of infection among front-liners is lower than the general population because they were masks. The only problem with that claim is that he is including nursing homes in the "general population" bucket.

Trying to call in the National Guard in Newfane because of what is happening there just tells you how bad it can get. You didn't play duck duck goose there did you.

His laissez faire attitude did way more harm than good.

We can debate this until we're blue in the face. In fact, I think we already have, but Trump, Fauci, and the rest had been sending mixed messages all the way up until mid-March. One day, Trump is saying it's going to disappear like a miracle. The next he's shutting down travel to and from China, and Pelosi is going to Chinatown to protest. Maybe I have the order wrong, but the point still stands. One day, Fauci says there is no cause for concern. The next, it is a cause for concern. For the most part, it was just words, that either made you feel good about yourself or didn't depending on which side of the political line you stand.

Trump and Fauci could have been united from day one, and told everyone to stay in bed in the fetal position starting at the end of January and we would still be where we are today. He and his team decided to use a model from a guy who has been notorious for grossly overestimating effects of every disease. I admit, I never really looked into this Ferguson guy until he resigned after getting caught in his "Quarantine for Thee but not for me" act in order to have an affair with his married lover, but check out his projections on Bird Flu, Mad Cow Disease, and Foot and Mouth Disease. All were woefully overstated. Once the Trump task force decided to hitch its wagon to this guy's models, everything he had done beforehand became irrelevant.

Melodramatic.

Their highly-paid football players and football is a multi-billion dollar business.

Nobody should shed a tear for Aaron Rogers.

Rodgers lived this life on the other side. Just suck it up and play foosbaw. All these guys have meltdowns when they realize they aren't bigger than the game

The fact that people react differently to a pandemic based on political ideology is a testament to the stupidity of the two-party system

That was most likely what happened in 2016 as well. I guess what I'm curious about with folks is, if you throw out Trump being Trump, throw out the nonstop media insanity on both sides of the spectrum and throw out this unprecedented Covid time the last 4 months, how has your way of life been the past 3 years? Unless I'm way off here I just have to imagine most would say, ya know what, it's been positive. Now not everyone but I would think a majority.
- buffalokb

People have short memories; also this has been 3 years of chaos. There is no foreign policy. Wall Street may have had a nice little run but wages for most of America were stagnant.

The jobs that were hired were not the high paying jobs they were often service industry, retail so the cushy picture of America you drew was Trump's GOP picture but it is not really reality.

It's a battle between Trump and science. Simple as that. And during a pandemic, logic dictates that science should win out. Unfortunately it isn't.

I mean I believe their elite performance is also driven by their big ego’s.

If he wasn’t such an arrogant d-bag he probably wouldn’t have had such a great career.

The amount of debt created during the last few years of the “bull market” was insane.

The U.S has been borrowing like we’ve been in a pandemic since 2016.

What time in history did we have 43% of the country supporting a president when we had 20% going on 30% unemployment, approaching soon 100,000 deaths from a pandemic that a president doesn't want to test and tract fully because the numbers will make him look bad? This is FU!! That testing would help the economy by helping states and cities to open up sooner but Trump is all about ratings and if the numbers get too high in an election year, not good for him but good for the US.

This is like how Nixon prolonged Vietnam when LBJ had a deal to get elected.

That doesn't get enough attention. How does the greatest economy in the history of history run a $1 trillion deficit the last fiscal year?

Riddle me that, Batman!

That's the problem. So I"m not intelligent? Who passes for intelligent then, a Hillary supporter? Obama supporter? Biden supporter? One of the greatest rights we have is our choice to vote. What do corporations focus on today as a recipe for success, diversity and diversity of thought, think differently, yet the left will always say we know what's best for you.

Disagree. But everyone here knows that.

The parallels between Trump's handling of the USFL and his handling of the re-opening of America will, imo, have similar consequences. It's his first real crisis and he's failing.

for a person who rips me regularly, for posting about trump

A I have not brought him up to start a conversation in at least 6 weeks

B you bring him up a lot lately

bottom line, if the best the democrats could come up with is joe bidden

expect 4 more years of trump

- navinrjohnson

Good post

Dems have 4 years to find a guy or girl and this is the best they can do? How about someone between 40-55 years old? Someone who can relate to young families ect. Someone living in reality.

Corporations, and the businessmen who run them, don't want you to think differently. It's counter-intuitive to their thought process.

And...blame Howard Stern for your feelings, not me.

I've been watching Ken Burns' Vietnam doc this week. My favorite anecdote about the negotiations was that the north Vietnamese insisted that the Americans and South Vietnamese on the same side of a square 4-sided table. This demand postponed negotiations for 10 weeks until the Ruskies said "use a round table"

That’s why after a 30% market drop in March the stock market is still completely overvalued.

The economy was going to correct whether or not there was a pandemic. Covid just sped everything up and led to a market drop on stereroids over the span of 30 days.

If the Dems are smart, and by-Gid they've been incredibly stupid lately, they'll pick a proper running-mate to not only get them in office, but also to be the support Uncle Joe might need. Methinks Harris or Abrams will (should?) Be the VP choice.

Abrams seems like the choice.

Hopefully someone that makes people leave their house and vote for a "reason "

Hopefully someone under 55

I haven’t paid attention to him in 20ish years.
