49 is no longer the new 30

Outside of my hip that’s shot, at 41 I feel better than I did at 30. I also don’t look like I’m 41 so I have that going for me too.πŸ˜‚

That's what wrong with some people it might not do danger to me but what about the mothers, fathers, Grandparents etc

That's just selfish imo to take away some one else's loved because you just want to have fun

Is your mother, father, grandparents, uncles living with you?
Isolate from them.
Enjoy yourself in between.
This all under the goal of developing an immunity.
The more that do, in controlled fashion, the better off we are.
Especially the young.

I know individuals who were listed as COVID deaths. One was 80+ with several co-morbidity and another was a 90+ year old who had been very sick for the last two years. Both of their doctors listed COVID as the cause of death. Two individuals who were never going to get better. They contracted the disease and passed.

COVID listed deaths BUT they were on their last leg prior to catching the virus.

Cool. One of my best friends just died from it last week. He was 54. No pre-existing conditions.

I didn't save it...and it was likely off as well as I think I used $7.25m for Sam rather than the projected 8 x $8.75 by Evolving Wild.

If I have some spare time over the weekend I might try to update what I had.
I had something like:

Skinner Eichel Anderson
Kahun Strome Sam
Mojo - Cozens - ?
Asplund - Lazar - Okposo

Dahlin - ?
McCabe - Joker
Pilut - Borgen

Ullmark
Aaron Dell

I honestly can't remember the ?'s

If you do not wish to be at risk - stay home.

We are going to have to open up. We have to. There is no road map to the end.

The best path has yet to be revealed. You know why? The Monday Morning QBs on here will tell you - as soon as anyone does or does not do something, the critics will be all over the decision. Only after the action will the opposite action rear its head.

I vote to open for those of us wishing to head out. It will be limited opening but I vote to head out.

Stay clear of each other and wash your damn hands.

- TC4145

Pretty close to my sentiments.
Those who are at higher risk, stay home.
Those who are younger, get back to work
If you live with at risk people; you and they have a decision to make..be responsible.
Go to the beach, probably among the safer places to be...try to stay distant, don't congregate.

Like Dell, but if those are the numbers projected for Rhino, WOW, don't think I would do it. Like Anderson, nice power Winger for Jack.

Agreed. I feel that there will be a lot of 1-2 year deals signed. With the flat cap this year and Seattle coming next year, players would be stupid to sign longterm this summer. I read that with a flat cap there will be about $125m less to spend on free agents compared to last year.
- adambuffalo

Agreed.

I wonder if there is an opportunity to leverage this for the long term though.
I.e. Extend Dahlin for as long as you can for a "deflated" contract value.
Could be huge in the long term.
Same with Joker.
Just thinking outloud.

Good post, plus with the new TV deal that will happen in the near future
- Buff36

Depends on your definition if near future.

I think I have the timeline below correct...feel free to correct.

Estimates are that the max the NHL could earn with resuming the season, then full playoffs us $500M ... which is better than the projected loss $1.0B - $1.2B if everything ended.

2020-2021 likely is affected as well with assumed lost gate revenue earlier on, even with a late start.

Expansion revenue realized in 2021-2022 season...impacts the 2022-2023 season Cap.

New TV deal recognized in 2022-2023 season...impacts the 2023 - 2024 season Cap

Also practice proper hygiene. That is not to say antibacterial everything. You need bacteria to help your immune system work properly. Go to the bathroom, wash your hands. If you think β€œhmmm, I should probably wash my hands.”, wash your hands. And for love of God, wash ya ass along with your bits and pieces!

I meant players signing 2 or 3 year deals, then being able to try and take advantage of what's coming in 3 to 4yrs. Especially RFA's

Like you said, who knows what happens with the contracts.
I agree with Adam on the 1-2 year deals coming...but would Sam in particular want to do another bridge-type deal, or does he push hard with an Arbitration threat in his hip pocket...gotta believe Botts is going to be squimish after Erod was gifted $2.0m last season under the same cap of 81.5 if it is flat for next season.

If Sam is going to get big bucks, they would be nuts to re-sign him IMO.
Once these estimated contract values are plugged in, the tune changes rather dramatically on what you do.

Strome could be another example. I think $3.6m ( or whatever it was) is way too low...but could it happen under a flat cap... sure...but then that problem emerges as a bigger issue 2 years down the road wanting to get paidback...kind of what we see from Sam this offseason. It might be better in the long haul to lock him up longer at say $5.0 -$5.5m..he was on pace for 54 pts over 82.

Just kicking around thoughts.

I gave Strome a shorter term deal because I think Lundell will be a Sabre and in 3 yrs it will be Eichel, Cozens, Lundell down the Middle. Just my thinking.
