So, anyway, the Sabres might make the playoffs with no fans. Should they put cutout fans in and pump fake cheering? Taiwan is doing the cutouts for their baseball league now I read in the WSJ.

Understand that, but the player has to show it to. Rhino is who he is a good Complimentary Player.

Who should’ve been tried back at Center at some point these last 2 seasons

Had nothing to lose by giving it a shot

The trade was a bad trade. However, it also wasn't anywhere near the reason this team is where it is now. McNabb is a non-factor.

Reinhart has 50 points which would put him in the top-15 of RWs according to NHL.com's stats, so he's a top-line RW on half the teams in the league.

Not the problem.

- jcragcrumple

A rookie was outpointing him on the left side before he got hurt and he was a 7th round pick, I think a few others would do well next to Jack. Now put him off that line and oh brother.

I'm with the "who" Sam is as a player. Tanking for him doesnt help. Slow, bad hands and streaky. Part of a lot of losing.

Kaiser made a good point, he has outplayed his contract. Most 2nd overall players shiuld outplay their rookie deal. Sams outplayed the 2nd contract as well. 👍

It's the next contract for sam that's gonna hurt. I believe strongly that his points are a reflection of playing with Jack. Gonna make the same mistake they did with skinner. He actually had 40 goals in 1 season not a high if 25.

- Boss34

Another reason he should’ve been tried back at Center

Also, the “John Jack” thing is lame (just saying)

He performed next to ROR just fine for 2 years. What's the point, that he needs a good center to play well? Well yeah, if you put him with a Larry or Sobotka, he will produce less. That would apply to Olofsson as well, who, of course is not as good of a 3-zone player as Reinhart.

Put Girgensons next to Eichel and it sucks. We've seen it

Wasn't that the year he had 8 even-strength goals and didn't earn a big long term contract but a show me one? Yeah, he needs Jack

I know that and said it multiple times, especially this year might have been able to get Skinner going. Plus would have shown us how good he really is.

I BLASTED that trade when it happened

No clue how to look back & find it
*is there some kind of “search” available on the full site? I’m on my phone

But i repeatedly said McNabb would be a solid defenseman (no, i didn’t expect he’d be this good)
And that Fasching was a sh!tty skater

Got a lot of crap for it too

The year leading up to his bridge deal was 25 goals and 12 ppg

If you want to try to pin the current state of the sabres on Reinhart, go for it. I think he's a very useful player and the organization has failed consistently to get useful parts around him.

That said, I would absolutely trade him to get a center

I got lost in all the discussion, which was way cool and a long time coming, however that direct-to-the-playoffs format would have the #3-seed leafs against the #6-seed sabres...

that would be awesome

They should have paid the cost of Mittelstadt to acquire Trochek

Instead we're going to be stuck with some bargain-bin 30-something that Botterill can get for a 3rd and Laaksonen because his ego wont let him admit he whiffed on Mittelstadt

- jcragcrumple

Panthers wanted already NHL ready players. Mittelstadt wouldn't have gotten it done.

The team needs just more good forwards

I’d rather see Reinhart stay, get a stop gap 2C like Henrique and play him with Skinner and Reinhart

Cozens is going to be very good. And I’d rather have him here + more good forwards
