Can't really say that about Patrick injuries have hurt him but you cant call him a bust till he plays about 2 full years
- gerbe75pts

Pettersson is the next Datsyuk.

Kid is approaching Eichel level talent.

I don’t think Patrick has that kind of ceiling

How many would Leon have next to Jack ?

We would have had Jack100 two years ago.

- Pegullaville

But how many would Bennett?

In terms of expected goals above replacement this season, Sam Reinhart ranks 29th in the league, right around the likes of Brayden Point, John Carlson, and Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Reinhart has more 5v5 points than players such as Sebastian Aho, Sean Monahan, Kyle Connor, Mathew Barzal and Ryan O’Reilly.

These are names that are obviously mediocre players in the NHL, and if your theory is that he wouldn't have any success in the league then all these guys - and everyone who writes about them - want to have a chat

- Der Kaiser

Stats are funny sometimes especially when you have a player like Jack feeding you night in and night out. Would any of the teams with those players take Reinhart for them?

He was the root of the Sabres current situation and it is what it is.

Sam is alright like I said he turned into Patrick sharp 2.0 which is fine but hes not Someone that's gonna carry the team when needed.

I don't think he worth the next contract of 7m or 8m that's a mistake imo trade him for an upcoming player that is ready to break out .. like I said keller or nico

Should have never traded for ROR, the rebuild had just started. Multiple pieces were traded that could be helping this team know. Other trades wouldn't have happened to fill spots that players traded away could have filled.
- Buff36

Ahhhh.
Revisionist history.
ROR was brought in to protect Jack from assuming 1C duties.
It is possible Jack could have lost his way being so young and having to play 1C.
ROR also taught Sam the NHL game by mentoring him and conducting the ROR Practices ... which Sam said were important to him.

Bringing ROR in had benefits, he paid too much.

So is having Josh Allen ok because you didn’t end up with Rosen ?

Mean while the Bills traded away a SuperBowl MVP the year before and passed on this years NFL MVP ?

If you look at life that way then sure, I guess life is good.

Pettersson is a stud but you never no Patrick might hit that elite status like Couturier he just needs to stay healthy
If he is still the same in 2 years then bust

If Reinhart could play his cerebral 2nd line game why would they give up those assets to get another 2nd line center to do the same. What would they do with three top centers? Would Reinhart's agent let him play wing if he could? He wouldn't have signed that crappy bridge deal and it's all about the money.

Since "NY Pause" has started, I have watched all available seasons start to finish:

So instead we could have become synonymous with Minnesota, Montreal, and all of the other teams that are mediocre and field an ok team every year and still look up into the rafters and see nothing ?
- Pegullaville

Three last place finishes, no playoffs for nine years, a season high of 35 wins and 81 points post-tank and years of dysfunction.

Did I miss anything?

- Fattony1187

I'm with Flacco on this one. Neither should be considered acceptable.

Taking Reinhart over Draisatil is a whiff.

Taking Nolan Patrick over Pettersson, Heiskanan, and Makar is a whiff.

Ron Hextalll and Tim Murray are out of jobs, coincidence ?

- Pegullaville

Patrick was a consensus top-2 pick. Just like Reinhart
