My company just offered me a position to move back to GA (Yes I know during this time i shouldn't be complaining)
But it is one of the hardest decisions of my life.

I have until Friday to decide.

Only issue is the move wouldn't happen for 9+ months, in which a hell of a lot can change.

Didn't give you much time to make that decision. What part of Georgia.

Means the Sabres will not win a Cup with Sam Reinhart on their roster.
- buffalofan19

Anything is possible if you can have depth down the middle.

Cozens and the possibility of adding a Byfield/Rossi/Lundell this year is a good start.

I can't say I agree with this. Fix your 2nd line think Kahun Cozens Mojo can make good 3rd, bring in another goalie, and think this team can compete with most teams out there.

He could be Foppa 2.0. Does absolutely nothing to improve Sabres as a Defenceman. Make him the 2C or trade him for one if u can’t. Anyone still bragging about how good he has been for the Sabres is a brain dead moron
- Hatboro_Swords

I can't see him being anywhere but on the top pairing quarterbacking the top powerplay unit...the quality of his defense partner will be directly related to what they perceive his needs to be...

near-term, does he need a true defensive defenseman, and in that respect do they need a vet like tj brodie or could they get could they stay in house with a soon-to-be 21 yr. old Henri Jokiharju?...or is rookie Will Borgen the answer?

or does brandon Montour have enough defensive acumen and ability to cover for dahlin while still retaining his offensive abilities?

or perhaps they go short-term on a seasoned vet if there are compliance buyouts e.g., Brent Seabrook, Eric Johnson?

am of the opinion that brodie will be costly, but would be a fine add and in-house, Montour is the best option...can't see them going the Seabrook/Johnson route but those are possibilities...

that said, the original premise remains, I believe dahlin will be the Sabres no. 1 defenseman for a long time

The problem is that both Skinner and Reinhart will and/or are going to command too much cap space combined to make that happen, unless 3 or 4 players overachieve on rookie deals.

I’m not sure how I feel about Indy. Rivers is really old
- sbroads24

Would you bet $ that the Broncos would have more wins?

*not trying to make a wager. Just curious.

Important counterpoint: Chad Ruhwedel’s name is in the Cup.

Tell me I’m wrong, or admit you are.

not necesarrily.

The position i am currently in, will have a shelf life heading into next year. The new position would be a step to upper management, and it would be 100% the right move for me career wise.

it's the personal side of it(Family, ex, etc) that make this challenging.

Chad Ruhwedel wasn't taking up an inordinate amount of cap space in the year he got his name on said Cup.

Leaving Family is always tough, gotta think about the future though. Yeah lived in Hinesville for awhile. Gets hot there, but not a bad drive to South Carolina or Florida. And Savanah is pretty nice.

why can't most of the skunk haters get to this point

- navinrjohnson

Reinhardt is good at hockey

Probably make a good 2rd line rw. 45-50 point guy, with skinner and a good 2c.

Problem is, overpaying someone who is good, not great.

The issue you're trying to highlight is not one of having Reinhart on the roster. It's the fact that too much of the Sabres cap space is devoted to players who are not playing on value contracts. To single out Sam, who has outperformed every contract he ever signed, is just narrative.

Focus your complaints on others who have underperformed their contracts.

Well that's the thing and they should start being able to do it. They need to have some of the younger players start taking spots, it will help with the cap. It will help offset the bigger contracts. It's just they didn't have that because the system was so drained.

I've heard reinhart is likely to win a cup on another team?

Something about being a passenger on a good team.

Chad ruhwedels name on the cup means casey nelson is good. Washedupdeutsche's arguement I believe?

None of these other players are commanding or going to command a long term deal at anywhere near the salary Reinhart is going to command. In fact, every one of these players comes off the books at the end of this season except for Okposo. Pegulaville has it mostly right when he said that the team needs to be built through the draft. The problem is when these players are developed to the point they're ready to be championship caliber, assuming they hit on these draft picks, they will be off their rookie deals and Reinhart will be have to be moved anyway. If they don't hit on them, they're not going to sniff a championship either way.

That's definitely a possibility. He's the exact type of player you add at the trade deadline when loading up for a cup run.

And who among those are set to command a 6 or 7 year deal at $7 million per?
