I’m sorry but are you that brain dead that he actually meant, shoot up bleach or Lysol. My god we get it you hate the president. If the NHL wants to play I say let them play. I go to Lowe’s and Home Depot all the time and I’m around hundreds of people. There open , but I have friends who can’t open there small shops. They can’t even let two or three people at a time in.
We need this, I need this. Listening to some hack blogger think he’s the voice of reason makes me want to puke. This country needs to open back up now.
Pretty soon the solution is going to be greater than the problem.
When the last president said “those jobs aren’t coming back” . Well guess what, they might not be.

If fans can't return to the arenas the NHL will go out of business. It will be a slow bleed. |

The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus. On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity – many had two or three,”

As an rn working the front lines I appreciate both sides of this. I appreciate the sacrifices people made to make my and my colleagues jobs safer (among other reasons). I appreciate the hardships that people face without income. People have called us hero’s but I also applaud those who have made the sacrifice by staying home despite the hardships. Thank you.
I don’t pretend to be smart enough to know the answer. But for those that want to hurry up the resumption of normal life... that’s fine. It’s understandable. But while it’s understandable don’t pretend you do not hold some responsibility for potential human life’s lost due to the illness. You have to own that.
For those that want to hold out indefinitely... don’t pretend you don’t hold some responsibility for the continued devastation the quarantine is causing people
And for those that want to open up cause you are bored or buy into conspiracy theories... f you. |

But society doesn’t work like that. If it’s considered unsafe (on balance) for society, then you don’t go to work. It’s the same concept as drinking and driving. The decision comes down to a cost/benefit decision like you said. That decision is in the hands of the governments we elect who take both medical and economic advice. - Canada Cup
You're wrong about that. That is exactly how society works. People as individuals make choices all the time. Even during this pandemic, with states issuing stay at home orders, people are still making a choice. Many are heeding that but many are not.

Great people make decisions to drink and drive too. The point is that there are times when society, through government, will step in and make cost/benefit decisions that take away the ability of individuals to make those decisions unless they break the law. |

I can't say that those who need to resume normal life as much as possible because it is life or death for them, would hold some responsibility. There are literally people who can't feed themselves or their children. That check from the feds won't last that long. The single Mom needs to go back to work. Replace the word want to with need to.

You haven't successfully made a case here. You're wrong about how society works. There is also a question of law here.

The Left believes we are all children and need to be told how to act. Like you said, the places where there are less restrictions have less of a problem with people staying away from each other then those places where its mandated |

I disagree with this. We have to get on with life because we may never have a vaccine. If we hide our heads in the sand until all is safe, we may not have a world to come back to. We can get on with our lives while still being as safe as possible. I think people need to look into the numbers more. For example, normally during this past two month time period over 1500 people between the ages of 15-24 would die. Do you know how many have died from coronavirus? The answer is 7. This isn't a one size fits all disease that effects everyone equally. A vast majority of those who are at risk are those that have other health issues and the elderly. |

When trump was banning travel to China. Pelosi your hero I’m sure was handing out pens, trying to push a bill to stop the travel ban and telling people to come to Chinatown and the parade. Your a loser Tanner, always have been . You just have a voice because trumps your president. He’s so far up your butt your shining his shoes.
I hope to god whoever runs this blog gets rid of you and you have to start a real life. |

Maybe things are better in Pittsburgh. But I work mostly with the homeless and poor and while it is more challenging to find food none of them are starving or unable to feed themselves... yet. Shelters food banks etc are still fully functioning though I know there is some concern if this lasts into the fall.
But my point remains valid. There really isn’t anyone who has the moral high ground with this issue. There is no perfect solution. So before anyone firmly plants their flag on one side or the other they aught to recognize the valid arguments the other side has. And accept their acquiescence to the damage their stance can cause |

A few things. They will have a vaccine in time. No doubt. Here's what you're not looking at in your numbers. The age group of 15-24 may not be effected in terms of death as older people with underlying health issues. The issue is how this spreads. That age group can still contract the virus and be asymptomatic and spread it someone such as the elderly or someone with underlying issues. That is the point of social distancing. It isn't well, this age group can just go do what they normally do.

I disagree completely that those who are forced to do what they need to do to survive, should be held responsible in any way for making that choice. It's what anyone would do.
