It will be interesting to see what they come up with. I think a large consideration will be to earn as much revenue as possible, so to me that means
-teams will play some regular season games to get to say 75 games each which means they get 90% of the TV and Advertising/Sponsorship revenue.
-expanded playoffs to generate additional playoff revenue. Maybe some pay-per-view charges for additional games
Of course, gate / concession revenue will be lost...and that will hurt quite a bit - IonSabres
they'll need testing to see if anyone has the virus...maybe a mass testing followed by two weeks of 'Camp'...I propose a full-out, NCAA-bracket like tournament, with one-game play-in first round, and teams seeded based upon the points-percentage standing when play stopped

James Buchanan, actually, according to most historians. |

Players have travelled. McCabe left Buffalo, as have several others, for example. - kingcong39
Right, but they have been required by the league to self-quarantine once they got to their destinations. |

More accurately, Fitz will come back with some weak tea that he thinks is a mike drop but everyone else will skip right over. Boss will chuckle to himself and the world will keep on spinning. - Der Kaiser
Maybe we'll get a new blog and Fitz will feel obligated to respond in this blog well after anyone is paying attention? Nobody closes out the comments of a blog hours after it is no longer current like good ole Fitz. Gotta say, Fitzy does provide good entertainment. Thank you for your contributions Fitzy. |

I just cant see the nhl season continuing, even in neutral sites. Imagine a multimillion $ asset getting sick and dying?
I'm guessing these young, rich guys are not following the guidelines? Too much risk in my opinion. - Boss34
According to multiple reports, the NBA and NHL are mandating self-quarantines of players and coaches under threat of breach of contract. They would be leaving a lot of money on the table by violating.
Also, I have a better chance of winning the Powerball on Saturday than any player has of dying of this, and that's considering the fact that I will not be buying a ticket. |

Feels so good knowing the 3ER resolved the world's sports withdrawal. Link to the genesis of the greatest sports idea in the history of the modern era provided below.

I like how you think this the only place in the world that discusses hockey, but I guarantee I've seen the Olympic village scenario mentioned before you did here. |

Okay, someone needs to start tailing Okposo 24/7 and gets some incriminating photos of him not self-quarantining so his contract can be terminated. |

Been thinking about gas prices lately. They're so low, yet i'm unable to take advantage of them because I'm never driving. Haven't filled my tank since on or around 3/20. At some point if things get back to normal, we'll all be paying for the oil companies losses. $5/gal. out of the question? That is going to be when things are tough for everyone. No more bailouts because businesses are back in action and prices will be hiked so high across the board, you won't be able to afford anything.
I would appreciate Lacaprup's forecast on the storm after the storm. He's been killing it through this. Dude might be Paul Romer in real life. |

So close to 1,000 players, coaches , trainers and officials will have less of a chance of dying than you winning a 1 in 292,201,338 Powerball, which you may or may not purchase a ticket for?
Interesting take.
How was the Buffalo rally? Did you and the other 45 vehicles driving around the circle get your point across?

Just by posting it here doesn't mean you came up with it first. Like I said, you weren't the first person that came up with the idea. Maybe the first to post it on a Sabres blog, but that is far from originating the idea. Probably read it somewhere and posted here claiming it was your original idea. |

Good post
Gotta think the oil companies will ",need" to make up for lost revenue.
I'm curious as well. Sounds like electric vehicles are really getting ready to make a stronger push.

ENNNT. Try again. Unlike you, I cite my work. Always. There was nothing to cite in this case. Start citing my takes or be known as a plagiarizing fraud. |

JUST IN: NHL looking at restarting season in July.
Games would be played at 4 or 5 neutral sites with limited or no fans, according to Florida Panthers president Matt Caldwell.
On the conference call, he said this plan is not finalized.
i'll watch out of curiosity, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me |

So if they start in early July, they could finish by the end of August with a condensed schedule. Free agency Sept. 1 and begin the season normally in October? |

makes for a very long 20-21 season, unless they're planning on a stoppage due to a resurgence of the virus...
and, when/how will they do the draft? |

I imagine the nhl would take off 8-10 weeks between seasons. Probably be a union issue?
Maybe camp in late October and Thanksgiving will start a condensed schedule?
Good post, curious myself

I ran a mock and picked for Buffalo. Not that it matters, but I thought this turned out ok.
54 - Curtis Weaver, , EDGE, Boise State
86 Cam Akers, RB Florida State
128 Van Jefferson, WR Florida
167 Harrison Bryant , TE Florida Atlantic
188 Dane Jackson , CB Pittsburgh
207 Tanner Muse, S Clemson
239 Nevelle Clarke , CB UCF - SyrSabreFan
sal cappaccio agrees w/54:
54.) Buffalo Bills: Curtis Weaver - EDGE - Boise State
We know the Bills coaching staff loves players with position flexibility, and this front office has opted for players with experience more often than not since they’ve been in charge. Even though he played only three years at Boise State, Weaver has played in 40 collegiate football games and can also play in multiple defenses, either with his hand on the ground as a rush-end or standing up. He’s had a super productive college career, and capped it off by being named the Mountain West Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year last season, an award Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes won in both 2008 and 2009 at TCU. In fact, Weaver passed Hughes for the most career sacks in the Mountain West, and is the conference's all-time leader with 34. That also ranks fifth all-time in NCAA history since the stat has been kept. He’s also the Mountain West’s career-leader in tackles for loss with 48. |
