They may have to move him tho, him or sergachev. Both are prone to be offer sheeted. Although who knows what happens with contracts now with covid scenarios

You're not wrong, I'm just not sure we will see any offer sheets this upcoming summer. They are rare to begin with, and many teams will be cash-poor because of the whole "paused" season.

We have discussed this before --- as much as I LOVE Cirelli, I think Sergachev should be the target. He may be the key to unlocking Trouba as a top pair defenseman, and won't cost as much in a trade.

Maybe I’m just wearing the blue colored glasses, but I’m just not convinced he’s that much better than guys in the pipeline and he’d cost a fortune. Would you be comfortable giving Nils+ for him?

I don’t think they will be forced to give him away either. If there is a compliance buy out, they’d use it on Tyler johnson, then they have some UFA they won’t resign and some dead money comes off the books. If things break right, they probably can sign both guys.

Obviously I don't know what the Rangers are thinking, but IF they feel Sergachev would be the partner for Trouba long term ---- I would do Nils or Miller to get it done. I don't do this lightly, but Sergachev is a really young and terrific player!

He is only 21 years old and has played almost 250 NHL games ( including playoffs ) and there is no guessing or hoping --- he is an NHL player. Nils or Miller are just lottery tickets we HOPE pay off. The only concern I would have is his next contract -- how much is he going to cost in the future?
