Fellow Hockeybuzzer’s......

If you can remember back a year and a bit ago......Atomic Wedgie returned to the site and informed us that his lovely was on a journey and that they had received some fantastic news that she was in remission. AW simply asked us to have a wee feel about the breasts the next time we were having some fun......

So...........I’ll bring you back to April 15th 2019, game #3 vs Boston. Leafs win to take the 2-1 series lead.......I carry the celebrations to bed and for some reason, start my examination......and low and behold......I felt a lump in my wife’s left breast.

I waited until the next day (she had a few beers) to let her know what I had felt.

She initially shrugged it off as tender boobies as that “time” of the month was incoming.....I said it was a different feel and that she needed to get things checked.

She left work and went to her doctors for testing......a few days later was diagnosed with breast cancer and that we needed to move fast. Scary stuff when you hear that !

Chemotherapy was up first......followed by a full mastectomy and lymph nodes removed....then radiation. She also had her ovaries removed as this was a hormone driven cancer.

This women of mine is the strongest lady I’ve ever known and pushed through like a Champ !! Good days and bad days !

Although she will have further tests......I hoping and believing that we found this in time !

I’d like to Thank a complete stranger for indirectly saving my wife’s life.......and I would encourage you to do a quick check for your wife/girlfriend !

- Mount Albert

Wow, thats amazing. Glad you were able to take the advice.

Wow. Great story. Very happy for your wife....and you too.

Weird that anything on these boards is worth the time we waste here...so cheers to you AW!

I hope none of you have close family members in a long term care facility. It is sad what is happening there.

My grandma is in one. She's got insanely bad Alzheimer's (she remembers nothing about anything/anyone or who she is).

I was informed by management votes were to be based on the pictures presented, not whatever smut might be floating around in French’s mind.

instead of the rather banal 'singer x vs singer y' comparisons, why not do a leafs 'most beautiful goals' contest?
start off with 32 goals and do a bracket ?
(surely youtube can provide some help on that)

In a sane world, this alone should get Trump out of office.

If this doesn't get some of his base supporters to change their minds, they are a lost cause.

Need a contest on musicians that aged well, and those not so much. Might be interesting.

A man is in his house and sees on TV that a flood is coming and he should seek higher ground. Instead, he says "I'm fine, God will save me". It starts raining and a neighbor in a big pickup pulls up and offers to take him to higher ground. He says "I'm fine, God will save me". It keeps raining and now the water is waist deep. A man comes by in a boat and tries to rescue him. The man refuses and says "It's OK, God will save me". It keeps raining and now the man's house is flooded and he is up on his roof. A helicopter appears and tries to rescue him but he says "It's OK, God will save me". Eventually he is swept off the roof and drowns.

When he gets to heaven and sees God he says that he was always a loyal follower of Christ and asks why he wasn't spared from the flood. God replies "Hey Moron, I sent a truck, a boat and a (frank)ing helicopter, this one is on you".

Lol

Like the balloon heads who won't listen to epidemiologists....didn't God create scientists too? I don't understand why they don't go live in a cave and eat berries and grubs.

no, thats a fair question. But he sent someone else in a truck. Also just for future reference, Gods license expired a long time ago, he doesn't drive.

The idea that it's also about the health of other people and the community as a whole doesn't occur to them somehow.

Funny how evangelicals' reverence for life only extends to fetuses. It ends at birth.

I’m not religious one bit and neither is my gf...but her family is and she explains to me people use it as hope to get yourself through what life throws at you.

But then there are some people who go so far to think that their actions don’t matter because it’s the “plan” god had for them.

God had a plan for me, so I killed him and became free.
