Serious question ... where do I find the definition of "accepted use of the term". I googled the question does musicians include singers. a brief scan of the results showed it does.

Full disclosure, I have tried to use the term musical-artists for exactly this reason. When I hear the term "musician", I also think of people playing a musical instrument. At least one of the upcoming performers is a very talented musician, but she does sing, even though that is not what she is primarily known for. I should have maybe said "singers".

I took guitar lessons once, and I did learn how to play a Blue Rodeo song, poorly, but I discovered along the way that I really have next to no musical ability and I am also somewhat tone deaf.

It sucks. I would love to know how to play an instrument well.

You should raise that with the Royal Conservatory of Music which teaches, tests and accredits voice as one of its many forms of musical instruction. My daughter teaches piano, guitar and voice.

I have one, we have the opportunity to skype once a week. Other than that - no contact. No outbreak at that facility yet, the problem in these faclities are the personal service workers (PSW) Earning low incomes and holding two or three jobs to stay afloat. Once it is in a home, spreads rapidly

I’ve been taken guitar lessons for six years and I can report that I have many more songs than you that I can play badly. I can find the chords, play them in the correct order, even kind of in time and still manage to sound like poop. Everyone in my family is musical. Even my dog and cat are named after musicians.
