U.S., Saudi Arabia, Russia Lead Pact for Record Cuts in Oil Output

As part of agreement, 23 countries commit to withholding 9.7 million barrels a day from markets

----------------------------------------------------------------

Fill up as much as you can because come July 1st the price of oil will be shooting back up about $15 dollars a barrel.

I'm looking forward to see them all back 10-15 lbs heavier

It would be garbage hockey. Imagine the state of the players by the end of next June. Injuries would be off the hook and the NHLPA would file a class action lawsuit against the NHL and owners. It would be so much fun!

It's garbage hockey half the time anyway.

Love it if the players said, "ok, we'll do this, but get rid of the salary cap"

Personally I'd love to see some dynasties again, the 70's Canadiens, the early 80's Islanders and then the mid to late 80's Oilers....they all have great General Managers in Sam Pollock, Bill Torrey and Glen Sather who got lucky in the draft sure but they built their teams from drafting and kept them together for many years.

Closest thing to that in recent years has been the Hawks, how many Cups would they have won if they didn't have to keep dismantling their team to get under the cap once the ELC's for Toews and Kane were done.

Redundant. It’s $ or dollars. Not both.

Think again, it appears SA didn’t get the memo

https://oilprice.com/Late...ith-Record-Discounts.html

They are going to (frank) the Russians (and Americans) hard. We could be seeing a military intervention in the near future.

just busting your chops.

SA has just dropped their average price to just over $10 a barrel. I don’t understand what their end game is.

those pesky Saudi's, that's their only source of income, much like Oman, so they'll smile to your face and stick a knife in your back when you turn around.

It's their only source of income and their cost per barrel is around $9 (see what I did there just for you) a barrel. Even at $10 a barrel they're still making money. No one in the world can produce at such a low cost.

Production costs are only $3 a barrel, with Capital Spending $3 and Administrative costs $2.50 (some of the highest in the industry as they like to pay their people) it's really cheap to produce a barrel.

I think we're going to see military action for sure, and have been pondering it for weeks.

No easier way to employ a bunch of people.

I was wondering if they'd get into it with China a bit, with Russia's assistance of course.

That web site I linked to is excellent. I don’t understand the oil business so for a layman like me it’s a great source of insider info. They’ve had some fascinating behind the scene stories that really give you a perspective on how cut throat the industry is.

We'll see. We decided to sell the business about a month prior to the world going bat-sh*t crazy, doubt it will happen anytime soon after re-opening. It will be all about peoples comfort levels in public places and how much money they have to keep the business afloat. But we are not alone and just going day by day. The 12 yards of soil has been moved and the garden is taking shape. Three blueberry bushes to plant and then shop for some clematis to run along the fence.

Hope you & yours are doing well. My cousin retired and moved back to Terrace, bought a place backing onto the Skeena. When the dust settles we'll be up there for a visit. Mrs. Marwood and I will visit Kitimat for a beer or two.

Remember, WWII happened because of the Great Depression, with the IMF saying today that with the Great Lockdown potentially being as bad as then, it's definitely not out of the realm of possibly. The only problem is that this is going to be one fought with nuclear weapons.
