They both just had statistical best years in various categories and adding Diggs should enable them to get more favorable matchups.
Beasley has 3 years left and Brown has 2 on their contracts. They're not youngsters anymore, but I don't think their age will be a problem for a few more years.

Yeah I wouldn’t bet it, but it wouldn’t shock me. WR’s over 30 rarely stay around too long.

Brown definitely because they save a lot if they cut him next summer ($9.75m versus $1.6m in deadcap), but I see Beasley more in the Edelman/ Amendola category. Can play longer as more of a possession receiver taking a lot more shorter routes. And cutting him only saves about $4m versus the $8m cutting Brown.

Hyde had 3 punt returns and 2 KO returns
McKenzie had 1 PR and 3 KO returns.

Not sure if either one had the designation of official backup. Hyde I would say was used because of his ball tracking skills and wasn't expected to actually return the ball, just not to turn it over.

Regardless, I hope they keep Roberts. Cut DiMarco or Lee Smith

Given how well Beaner has positioned the Bill's, and Botts seems to be struggling...combine with OneBuffalo,
How long would it take for Beane to come-up to speed to run this offseason?
If Kym sh!t canned Botts after the Bill's draft, could he nb e good to go by say September for end of season, draft and UFA period?

serious question

why are we cutting a WR right after he put up the best numbers we have seen in 8 years?

We're not. It was a hypothetical question for next year and if the two of them would be back. I mentioned that they would have 1 year and 2 years left respectively and to the people that think that Brown and Beasley would be too old, I pointed out that they could save a significant amount if Brown was cut next summer.

So we'd have the not-exactly-a-hockey-guru Kim Pegula hire a football GM to select players for the soccer coach? That'll raise some eyebrows.

Were not at all now but a lot can change in a year.

I’m all for adding a 21-22 yo WR who can be a #4 for a year to learn the offense

To get ahead of the age curve.

pretty sure if they are cutting people to save money, it's the recent front loaded contracts on the older guys they signed

if josh takes the next step

you will want brown, beasley and a player yet on the roster to be spreading out the d with diggs being the big dog

agreed

but the conversation of cutting brown 12 months after he put up our best season in 8 years ,is insane

the bills are finally in a position , aside from a back up RB to literally pick the best player with no real reason to draft for a position of need

Selling a WR after this coming year when you can basically get out unscathed after an age 31 season is completely different then trading a 23 year old Superstar.

the superstar will be 24 in the fall, will want off this team if they suck again this summer and will peak in 4 years

Isn’t Diggs supposed to be the #1 option ?

Drafting a WR this year or next, and saving $8M on the cap next year seems like good business to me.

We’ll agree to disagree

zay jones
sammy watkins
robert woods
goodwin
tj graham

james hardy

those are the wr's we have taken in the first 4 rounds for the last 15 years

aside from watkins, none of them did what brown did last season as a bill

drafting a wr, which usually takes years to develop is anything but a certain to replace brown

get back to me when we have a prospect that can be a legit number 2 wr on a high power offense and when brown has a down year

until then, this is crazy talk

We’ll see if you’re singing the same tune next offseason after Diggs, and increased workload for Singletary (unless your OC didn’t learn from the 2nd half of the Texans game), dig into his production.

Arizona and Baltimore seemed to replace him just fine. All of a sudden the guy is Randy Moss ? Please.

To be fair, having Tyrod didn't help. Woods did have 1,200 and 1,100 yard seasons with the Rams, and 700 yards as a #2 behind Sammy was pretty good (even with Orton and EJ at QB)

And john brown is a better QB than Matt Barkley
