I don’t hate the idea, but what happpens if Hyde or Poyer go down? Yikes. If they’re going secondary there, would rather a safety. OL or pass rusher preferred. - Hatboro_Swords
True. I like the fact that they can go BPA |

I haven’t been looking at mock drafts since the Diggs trade, but I really liked Jalen Reagor’s combine. Probably no way u get him in the 3rd. I can’t see them going WR round 2. |

I saw one today that had us taking Diggs' brother at 54. He's another guy I've seen all over the board from a late 1st rounder to early 3rd round.
Another CB though, which may show that the "experts" think we'll be going that route with the pick. |

If a WR is BPA, then go for it. The Diggs trade, and the term on his contract, makes it less of a desire for me |

Botterill did confirm that there will be overages. I think Vogel's $3 million projection, though, was before "It" caused the season to be suspended. - buffalofan19

Eh, even if they had to absorb the entire bonus amount next year, which they don't, every albatross of a contract other than Okposo comes off the books. If this team doesn't improve next year, it's purely based on poor personnel decisions. Cap space cannot and will not be cited as a factor. |

You have 2 WR that are over 30 i think you have to get a young WR to set us up for the future |

only WR over 30 is a special teams guy, roberts
your core is beasley, brown at 30
diggs at 26
and the throw ins, foster, duke and mckenzie at 25, 26 and 25
with brown, beasley and diggs getting close to 3 thousand yards last year, wr is almost a luxury not a need at this draft IMO
LB, O line depth, RB, CB, Safety, and Pass rusher are the pressing needs right now to develop |

Wide receivers start to decline at 30 you can't pass on a WR when this is supposed to be the "WR"draft

Being a deep WR class would mean you can pass on one early, no?
Chase Claypool is ranked as the 12th best receiver and ranked 87th overall.
You can still get a good player in the 3rd, 4th or 5th round. There are more pressing needs that can contribute right away.
Julio Jones had the 2nd most yards in the league last year at age 30.
Julian Edelman had 100 receptions for over 1,000 yards at the age of 33. |

And right on queue Nate Geary has us taking a WR at 54:
"54.) Buffalo Bills: K.J. Hamler - WR - Penn State
Although you may think the Bills are done adding to the wide receiver position, I’m not as sold.
The Bills went out and added a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver in Diggs, who is under contract for the next four seasons. They also added John Brown and Cole Beasley in the 2019 offseason, assembling one of the best wide receiver trio’s in all of football.
Having said all that, Brown signed a three-year deal in 2019 that will expire at the end of next season when he’ll be 32-years-old. No offense to Andre Roberts, but saving a roster spot for a player to solely return kicks isn’t a strategy I’d like to replicate going into 2020, considering Roberts is also sitting at 32-years of age.
Enter Isaiah McKenzie, who the Bills re-signed this offseason. McKenzie carved himself out a nice role as the team's No. 3 receiver in 2019 and played, sort of, a hybrid role, taking a majority of the shovel passes and end arounds. He also found himself as the team’s secondary return man for punts and kickoffs.
Now, let’s discuss why the Bills go with Hamler.
Hamler likely rounds out the top-three at wide receiver for the 40-yard dash if he participates at the NFL Combine. He’s, arguably, the most electric playmaker in the draft and can fill three roles for you - your primary kick and punt returner, WR4 on the offense who takes over as a more dynamic version of McKenzie, and signifies the youth and future of the position next to Diggs. Hamler will have the ability to learn from three of the best route runners in the game and make an immediate impact in the return game, and gives your offense the true big-play threat it needs.
He checks the most boxes here at 54 with a run on corners and offensive line to start the second round. You can make the case for safeties Jeremy Chinn or Kyle Duggar here, but I don’t want to rule out them being around in the third round." |

I like Winfield jr to slip to the Bill's in the 3rd. ( maybe trade back in the 2nd or up to the early 3rd)
I like diggs brother for the Bill's in the 5th
I DO NOT want Geoff Sanderson's son for the sabres.🤭

That's always easier to say when you forget what a poop show it can be to not have a reliable guy. Friggen Leodis McKelvin comes to mind. I like what Roberts did this year. Maybe this guy can do that, maybe not
Also, micah hyde was the backup returner, not McKenzie |

Agreed. Special teams is much more valuable when you just never make any mistakes as opposed to getting a great return every so often.
That being said, I am ALL ABOUT getting an electric playmaker to round out the WR’s.
Realistically this could be one or both of Beasley and Brown’s last year just on age alone |

Hyde had 3 punt returns and 2 KO returns
McKenzie had 1 PR and 3 KO returns.
Not sure if either one had the designation of official backup. Hyde I would say was used because of his ball tracking skills and wasn't expected to actually return the ball, just not to turn it over. |

They both just had statistical best years in various categories and adding Diggs should enable them to get more favorable matchups.
Beasley has 3 years left and Brown has 2 on their contracts. They're not youngsters anymore, but I don't think their age will be a problem for a few more years. |
