I understand Askarov is getting a ton of attention, but prospects are a crapshoot, especially with goalies.
Marner is a proven commodity. Downright stud. Great playmaker and 100 point scorer in the past and could very well be for several years to come. I get Leafs fans are irked at him for holding out, but cmon now.
Toronto would be foolish.
Which makes it absolutely fine by me. Go get him, Sabres. He and Eichel would be nasty. |

I used the actual cap hit at the time each contract was signed instead of salary, and I used some logical decisions as well, such as using Tarasenko as the number 1 RW for the Blues despite what the depth chart says, as he was out for the majority of the season.
I also excluded one salary of the 30, as Matt Barzal is about to get a large pay increase, and his 1.3% ELC cap hit very much skewed the numbers.
Here's what I got:
Line 1 LW - 9.14% of the cap, $7.45M cap hit
Line 1 C - 10.87% of the cap, $8.86M cap hit
Line 1 RW - 8.22% of the cap, $6.69M cap hit
How do the Sabres top 3 of Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart fit in there?
11.32% ($9M cap hit), 13.33% ($10M cap hit), 8.68% ($7M cap hit, estimated)
Yes they are over, but not by as much as your numbers are showing. - kingcong39
Nice.
Now compare the actual to the amounted calculated from the projected dependable Cap, which is about $72m not $81.5m. Botts F'd-up the Bonuses this season, so they have to be paid from next seasons Cap pool...and allocate another $3m for next seasons Bonuses....and $900k in Buyouts.
Then put is whatever Flexibility Buffer you want, I used $2.5m to be parked...which gets it down from $81.5 to $72.

The Cody Hodgson buyout is $791,667 through 22-23.
I'm not factoring in the bonuses until I actually know what they are. I'm not going to guess. |

Not taking anything away from a talent like marner...that said, I'd like to see what he could do with the likes of mojo, mitts and angry larry at center instead of two of the best in league - Michael Pachla
I agree. He’s just a boy with a mans wallet. |

I believe that is potential relief if they were to need it, but the actual amount they used is $2,160,434 at the point the season was stopped?
It's all a guess really until the season is officially over, whenever and however that happens. |

For all we know, none of the bonus levels were hit, or they all were.
No point in guessing or factoring it in without the information that Botterill and his staff clearly have. |

Botts mentioned they will have a rollover, I don't think he quantified it. Vogel I believe it was pegged it at about $3m. I think it should be factored in, I'd take away the assumed rollover for next seasons performance that I had targeted $3m for again. Gets you to ~$75m spendable.
And $100k over Cody's Buyout....ok, that will help! |

Botterill did confirm that there will be overages. I think Vogel's $3 million projection, though, was before "It" caused the season to be suspended. |

I feel for anyone who has/will submitted one.
There have been some decent suggestions inside many though.

Congratulations Sabres fans. The Cinco de Mayo 2006 game being aired on MSG tonight. The greatest Sabres game ever played. I can’t wait to watch it for the first time.
For all the transplants, for whatever reason the Sabres YouTube channel no longer uploading the Classics the day after. That’s a huge bummer. Only way I’ve been able to tune in was through Spectrum app with parents account info. Even then, have to watch on a device and screen mirror to tv. |

Interesting pick for the bills at #54 by that athletic
CB, Jeff Gladney TCU
Am not opposed to a cornerback there...need to keep them stockpiled as they can become very expensive outside their rookie contracts...from some quick reads, Gladney may fit well as a slot defender who can cover wide, he's relentless and aggressive, has great instincts and can tackle...at 5'11" 191 lbs. he's a little small and seems to get manhandled at times and although be breaks up a lot of passes, there's not a lot of INT's |

I always thought before the Diggs trade they were going to go receiver #1 and defense in the 2nd round, either DE or corner so this wouldn't surprise or upset me. |

I don’t hate the idea, but what happpens if Hyde or Poyer go down? Yikes. If they’re going secondary there, would rather a safety. OL or pass rusher preferred. |
