Ian Mitchell has signed with the Blackhawks. I think he can be Cale Makar-light next year in Chicago. - EnzoD
Great signing as expected.
I'd rather make no comparisons for now especially with Makar, just give me a Dman that can be effective behind his own blueline and move up the sheet and contribute some offence.
If Makar stays healthy he is going to be all world for 10 years or more.

Don't see anything on that anywhere. Most places have the Teply signing still as the lead.
Intrigued by Teply. If he pans out his upside sounds like middle six potential. - HawkintheD
Barstool Sports is reporting it but, I have no idea how legit they are.

I'm not getting too excited about this until I hear it officially. A site like capfriendly is much more reliable than barstool sports.

Happy Easter to all of the Christians out there, and a belated Happy Passover to those of the Jewish faith. |

I used to think I’d be in favor of a new song every year, but now I’m not so sure. At least Chelsea is unique, and original (AFAIK as a celebration song) to this team. Plus the whole careful what you wish for thing is a real thing.
On the whole, it could be a lot worse. I say keep it. - Ogilthorpe2
I have friends from Detroit that hate that song, if Detroit fans don’t like it, then it’s a keeper. |

Fake news, it's more likely that he's traded than signed. |

I saw Slavin play a half dozen or so times with the Chicago Steel (their games are a lot of fun and they dominated the league this season) last season.
Slavin is big, not afraid to use his body and go to the tight areas in front of the net and along the boards. Don't think he'll be a big goal scorer, but he has a really nice 200 foot game.
I believe he was in his freshman year at Colorado College this season. - scottak
Slavin could end up being an interesting draft pick. I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this kids, he may need some time but he could surprise people.

Bergevin told Caufield.to go ahead and play another season at the collegiate level
l have to put this question to you: due to his size, do you believe that Caufield will/SHOULD learn how to play without risking an njury due to engaging too much in physical contact......you know...absorbing physical checks. P Kane has done just that. Martin St Louis had a long career and is a case study perhaps of how to stay healthy in a rough sport.
This may be something he takes more seriously once he turns pro. - jhawk59
Bergevin is a tool. Caufield should be in the NHL potting 30+ goals next season and winning the Calder. |

A couple days ago there was blurb from scribe Elliotte Friedman "reporting" Dylan Strome was available.
Maybe just maybe the hawks have been in contact with his reps and they drew a line in the Cap sand in regards to a re-up.
I would think that this is part of the biz, and more likely there is a slight impass with numbers and that lead to the idea being out there.
The hawks like many teams are into their post season reviews and actions setting up a vision of who is going to be signed in the 100 list where they are going, who is signing, who they are passing on, and I am sure they have formed many a alternative plan if Strome and reps are thinking the moon.
But...I somehow don't think they are promoting Dacher and ignoring Strome as a weapon to win.
Maybe another team going through their post season exits has decided they have a guy to launch and they called the hawks and somehow Strome's name got thrown out there?
If s, dontcha wonder how an Elliotte Friedman "hears" stuff like this- or do they connect dots in their brains? |

I read somewhere recently that Friedman said he was essentially pressured into suggesting that Strome was available.
While Strome certainly isn't untouchable, I don't see him going anyway. If Strome wants $6 million, he's likely gone but I could see him wanting to stick around in Chicago and he'll be reasonable in his salary demands. |

For all y'all who aren't fans of this song, careful what you wish for. It's not like you have a choice and we could end up with the BS song that the Rags and a few other clubs play after a goal...or God forbid the country crap NSH plays after one of their dbag players score. - HawkintheD
I say scrap it until they make the playoffs again and then only use it in the playoffs when it pisses off other fan bases the most |

Reminder that The Athletic is conducting a Hawks fan survey on things like:
- Decision to retain full FO
- McD's level of involvement
- Killing Chelsea Dagger as the goal song
and more! It's open to subscribers and non-subscribers alike

Strome won't get a new contract until the salary cap number is finalized. And if he gets a dime over $4M it's a huge overpay. |

Tyler Cameron: "Best of" Blackhawks Armchair GMing – Part 3
How is everyone doing out there? Has anyone learned any new skills? Guitar? A new language?
Ok, moving on to hockey; we have our 3rd edition of "Armchair GMing".
This week will feature GM Savard2Secord. Here is the team he has put together... - Tyler Cameron
Have to admit my favorite part of being a parent has been when my kids took up an interest in something i had an interest in and teaching/ working with them on it like sports.
Added bonus my one son enjoys sports as much as i do, so much so, the rest of the family complains when we talk about it over dinner
Hardest part is to see your kids work so hard for something and not be rewarded for it.

Totally agree. $4,000,000.00 is a totally reasonable deal whereas $4,000,000.10 is a massive overpayment and should cost Bowman his job.

Yes, Teply played in the Czech pro league in his draft year. It's the same league tahat D prospect Galvas played in for a few years before sliding over to the Finnish pro league this season. - AEL_Fox
Yes, but this perspective on Teply is skewed, especially in comparison to Galvas. Galvas played 3 full years in top Czech men’s league for average Olomouc team. First year in Top 6 role, then Top 4, third year he was Top 2. (I don’t think he will have a career in the NHL tbh, but I root for him)
Teply played 15 games for top Liberec team and averaged 7:31 of icetime. Rest of the season (23 games) he spent in minor men’s league, playing regular Top 6 shift. The dropoff between these two leagues is significant, but minor league is still markedly better than juniors here. Very different background and path to Galvas, though. |

Man it'll be nice to have Boqvist, Mitchell, and Murphy manning the right side.
Keith will for sure be on the left side, and then what?
- de Haan
- Maatta
- Beaudin
- Carlsson
- Koekkoek (?)
- Seabrook (?)
All pushing for spots as well (without factoring any outside additions).
Slowly but surely, our defensive depth is looking much better. |

If Mitchell has indeed signed, it’s obvious that it was Scotty’s handiwork and nothing to do with Stan. |
